Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Cosme.
Hi Lisa, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
When I was 17 in high school, I had created a vision board of where I would be in 10 years. Here is where I made the goal of opening my own salon within that timeframe. I’ve always had a passion for hair and the beauty industry. When I first started, I gave out free haircuts as I was learning the trade. Now I am so thankful to all my clients that I book out 6 months in advance.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We grew up very poor as I had five siblings. My mom was very supportive of my career goals and would give me $5 a week to save towards purchasing the supplies I needed. I eventually saved enough to buy combs, brushes, hot tools, scissors after two years of being in beauty school. By the time I graduated, I had everything I needed to start my career.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I encourage clients to express their style through a wide range of specialty services. At Studio 5280, I am committed to creating a lively environment where my team’s expertise will complement your inner and outer beauty.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I believe the color services we offer at Studio 5280 is what truly sets up apart. When it comes to color, I know the chemistry very well. We specialize in color correction and blonding which can be difficult to achieve depending on different hair types. In one of the first salons, I worked out, there was a limited supply of color and I had to learn early on how to achieve the color that I wanted with what was available. I also share my knowledge with everyone that I have the opportunity to work with. Everyone that I have worked with I have taught them everything that I know from color to running the business. I am proud to say that I have motivated many to start their own business and they are also now successful business owners.
