Check Out Maiya Mindoro’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maiya Mindoro.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hello! My name is Maiya and I founded the Denver Girl’s Club. In December 2021, I begin making videos about wanting to make friends in Denver. These blew up and I had no idea there’d be so much interest. I was looking for a group to join and suggest to those commenting on my videos, but ones I found weren’t exactly what I was looking for. So, I made my own. It is a welcoming community made up of women in the area, mostly in their 20s-30s looking for connection. We have events all over the city to meet others and do activities together.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I never intended to start a group, let alone one with 1,000 plus members and lots of eyes on it. There are lots of opinions, growing pains from learning event planning, and overall exhaustion because I have a full-time job too. I have so many visions for this group but know it will take time to accomplish everything. This opportunity knocked on my door and I felt compelled to see it through.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I work in influencer marketing here in Colorado for a brand. The things I learned on the job have helped me in my personal endeavors and overall, for the DGC. I often post Denver recommendations, am in the community trying new things, and always at a coffee shop. People will recognize me from TikTok while I’m out or follow me for the recommendations and discover the DGC. All of the areas I spend the most of my time doing benefit each other in some way.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is making a community. Especially after WFH and being post-grad, it’s hard to make connections. I aim to create a safe and comfortable space for people to do that with myself and other like-minded women.

Pricing:

  • Events range from free-$100 a ticket
  • Personal content creation starts at $500
