Check Out Makenna Castor Chew’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Makenna Castor Chew.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I married a 5th generation rancher that has family has been ranching sheep and cattle for a little over 80 years in Utah and Colorado.

My husband and I just started our own sheep shearing business.

He shears sheep on the side of ranching. I help find customers all over the place. It has been fun and something we can do together.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
This is going on year two, so luckily it has not had many bumps yet. We have had repeat customers and have gained a few this year already.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Shearing sheep is no joke. My back hurts by just watching it be done. We are known for our honest work.

We are most proud of the business how it has grown in just one yeat time.

What sets our business apart is my husband has been around sheep, cows, and animals his whole life, so he has a huge understanding of animal behaviors and how to handle animals.

My outgoing and bold personality has no problem finding customers.

We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I am from the city (Denver), so this is shocking that I married a rancher in the country. Complete 180 of my life.
