Check Out Marilyn Penoyer’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marilyn Penoyer.

Hi Marilyn, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Re•solve Wellness originally started in Syracuse,NY where I was living and working as a health coach and fitness instructor, yoga instructor, and nutrition and accountability coach. I relocated to Denver and continued training clients remotely, but longed to provide a space for clients like I had in NY. A welcoming and nurturing environment where I could empower women to step outside of their comfort zone, learn how to utilize tools that are available to them to transform their lives, bodies, relationships, etc. Although opening this boutique fitness/wellness studio was a dream for a long time, locating the space and getting it ready to open happened very quickly. I was out for a morning run and happened to pass by the vacant studio on E. Virginia Ave. in Wash Park, and I knew immediately that was the space. Re•solve Wellness Studio is now filled with brand new strength and cardio equipment for personal training, small group fitness classes, yoga, red light therapy, infrared sauna, steam shower, and more. I continue to coach and train people both in person and remotely and am excited to welcome any local to Denver people to the studio.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My own transformation inspired my love for Women’s Wellness. I lost 100 pounds naturally through hard work and perseverance. I learned so much along the way about nutrition, fitness, and mental health. I don’t think I would have been able to have the success I did without the help of the coach that I had at the time, as well as family and friends who supported me. It soon became my mission to empower and help as many other women as I can. Although I do specialize in women’s health and wellness including weight loss, my clientele is certainly not limited to women. I like to consider it a very diverse and comfortable space where all are welcome. The biggest struggle of course is being in a new city, and starting from scratch. Making new connections and new friends. Thats part of the reason I settled in the Washington Park community. There are friendly people at every turn, and I have found the community to be very welcoming. Aside from building a new business, things have gone very smoothly….almost as if this dream, this space, and this city all aligned just as they were supposed to.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, yoga instructor, and certified personal trainer, I take a holistic approach to wellness incorporating mind, body, and spirit. Through one on one health coaching, my goal is to help clients feel empowered to take control of their health and implement the changes required to live a fulfilling and healthy lifestyle. I specialize in weight loss for women knowing that weight is a critical component to longevity and health, and many women struggle with weight due to life changes and hormone changes. I am also very committed to it because I feel there is a gap in the area of “maintenance” weight control. With the presence of misinformation, fad diets, and the prevalence of glp-1 use, often times getting the weight off isn’t the hardest part, but the lack of education and training for sustainable loss and maintenance create a vicious cycle.
In my personal training and small group classes I like to focus on building strength through functional training. Exercise that mimics real-life movement patterns, improving strength for daily tasks, boosting balance and coordination, preventing injury, increasing mobility and flexibility, and just making people stronger overall.
I’m most proud of the clients that I have helped along the way. When you see clients reach milestones and grow through your coaching….there’s just nothing like that feeling!

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Over the next decade, I see the health coaching, personal training, and wellness industry continuing to evolve in powerful ways. There’s a clear shift happening -from quick fixes and aesthetics-only approaches to more holistic, sustainable, and individualized methods. People are craving real transformation, not just another workout plan or crash diet.

I believe we’ll see a deeper integration of mental and emotional well-being into traditional fitness and nutrition programs. Coaching will become more personalized, more accessible through technology, and more focused on long-term lifestyle changes rather than short-term results.

Additionally, community, accountability, and education will play a bigger role -helping people not just do, but understand the “why” behind their habits. I also see more collaboration across disciplines -with coaches, therapists, dietitians, and medical professionals working together to support the whole person. We are already seeing the medical professional and coach connection grow and help facilitate excellent and available care for people.

Overall, I think this industry is moving toward being more human-centered, empowering, and sustainable — and I’m excited to be part of that change.
