Check Out Mark Ashcraft’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Ashcraft

Hi Mark, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Ashcraft Motorsports Racing began as a vision fueled by passion and a desire to break barriers in motorsports. Founded by a group of friends the team set out to create more than just a competitive racing squad—it aimed to build a community where young women could thrive in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Motorsports has long been dominated by men, making it difficult for women to gain respect, opportunities, and sponsorships. Overcoming stereotypes and proving that women belong in the racing world has been an ongoing challenge. Ashcraft Motorsports Racing relies on sponsorships, donations, and partnerships to fund its operations. Convincing companies to invest in a female-led racing team—especially when traditional motorsport sponsors often favor established male teams—has been a major hurdle.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Unlike traditional teams focused solely on competition, Ashcraft Motorsports Racing operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to mentoring and supporting young women in motorsports. The team’s core mission is to educate, empower, and provide opportunities for women in the industry. Through workshops, hands-on experiences, and educational programs, Ashcraft Motorsports Racing helps young women develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed in motorsports. Many young women entering motorsports face isolation or lack of guidance. Ashcraft Motorsports Racing provides a welcoming, team-oriented environment where female racers and crew members uplift one another, fostering a culture of growth and success.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I would say I keep my circle small so must would not know that I’m a 10 yr Army veteran with 3 college degrees.
