Check Out McKinley Murphy’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to McKinley Murphy.

Hi McKinley, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
In the summer of 2021, me and my friend decided to create some sort of business. I always loved dogs, because I used to have a family dog before he passed away. I never stopped loving dogs, though, as I kept wanting to start some kind of company to be with dogs more. That’s when we created The Golden Biscuit, and we both do our best to make sure every dog was comfortable. I make dog treats, walk dogs, babysit overnight, and even go to your house to babysit your pup!! All of this started from a little idea back in 2021.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Me and the person who started this company slowly became distant from each other and were no longer super close friends. Managing the company by mostly myself has definitely been a challenge, but I do have some other friends that love to help out with the dogs! Other than that, it’s been a pretty smooth road!!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in anything with the word “dog” in it. From pet sitting, to walking, to making homemade all-natural treats, my goal is to have the best experience for my customers. What sets me apart from other dog sitters is that at The Golden Biscuit, we only take one dog at a time (there are exceptions though). By only taking one (or two) dogs at a time, every dog gets its own, independent, pampered experience

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
To me, I think independence is a huge quality. When I walk dogs, I most of the time am by myself, and I need to be able to manage my clients without needing help from my parents or friends. With that being said, independence is very important to me.
