Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan McBroom.

Hi Megan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I’ve loved taking pictures ever since I was young – I remember saving up my change to buy my first digital camera for $30 from Walmart when I was in elementary school. Ever since then, taking pictures has been a tool I’ve used to memorialize the small and significant details of life through every new season. I lived in Kauai for two years after high school, and that truly ignited my passion and love for photography as I was so inspired by the natural beauty of the island.

Since then, I’ve moved to Colorado, and with the incredible support of my husband and friends, my photography business began a year and a half ago! The gorgeous mountains and landscapes of Colorado consistently amaze me, and my business has grown to include weddings, families, business photos, and more. I’m so thankful that I get to live my dream!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One thing I struggled with before I owned my photography business was my belief in myself. I really didn’t think that I was talented enough or capable to run a business and was very intimidated by the idea.

Thankfully, I have an incredibly supportive community who believed in me before the beginning, and their encouragement has been vital to my success and helped me become confident in myself and my abilities!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in wedding photography, family photos, and business branding. It’s an absolute honor to capture a couple’s wedding and memorialize such a significant and joyful day!

My favorite photoshoot was a maternity shoot at the Great Sand Dunes National Park at golden hour – the gorgeous expecting couple, the stunning scenery, and the perfect lighting were an absolute dream! My primary demographic for business photoshoots has been women, and I love being a part of their empowering career journeys.

I believe that everything happens for a reason, and I’ve been so blessed by the opportunities I’ve been given in life and in business!
