Check Out Mike Crofts’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Crofts

Hi Mike, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Back in 2014 I had started working at a mobile detailing company that essentially kickstarted the process of becoming a car enthusiast , eventually turning into owning my own detailing business.
As the years went on interest in things like vehicle maintenance, customization, fabrication all started becoming more prioritized, reason being is I liked having my very first car at the time but couldn’t afford to have repairs done, so DIY repairs was my best option to keep my car on the road.
Over the years of that mindset of “Do It Yourself” with how I maintained my vehicles, that mindset eventually made its way into how I see work. Up until I started my business frustration with the economy and work environment was at an all time high, considering it was also during a pandemic, the sustainability of any job was not there along with livable wages. Enough frustration had come to a point the DIY part of me set in, eventually starting my own business and hustling to find my own clients to keep a roof over my head and my bills paid. I see it as I can’t afford to work for anyone other than myself because I can’t trust someone else to find me work or give me a consistent check every 2 weeks.
It by all means is not easy to run a business, but it has been so much worth while to me to work for myself and provide the absolute best quality service I can possible. Being a car enthusiast definitely helps me enjoy what I do for work, and helps give a better service for my clients.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being a more seasonal job and slowing down during certain times of the year like winter, has proved to be a bit of a predictable obstacle so far. Luckily obstacles like a seasonal slow down can be planned for ahead of time and can be perfect to utilize free time for smaller odds and ends that are usually back burner tasks.
Unfortunately being too busy can also have some challenges, like being able to answer phone calls or call clients back right away. Since I usually am next to a running generator or covered in soap/water there are times I miss phone calls or can’t get back to them immediately, and have lost out on a couple clients who quickly found someone who did answer their phone. But that’s the game when you run and operate your own business, and learning how to grow in that area or improve.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a mobile vehicle detailer who has a passion for cars! where I carry my own water and electricity everywhere to make my service as easy and convenient as possible. I can handle anything from an average kid car riddled with old food, melted crayon, and stained carped, to higher end luxury vehicles that need more advance services like ceramic coatings. I also offer paint correction for scratches in paint and work with single stage and two stage paints. with 10 years in the automotive industry I take pride in my work and try to provide a 5 star service for every client, and having over 100 5 star reviews currently!
Being a car enthusiast I love to inform my clients something about their car they may not know, wether its features they didn’t know they had on their vehicle, recalls or other news that may be happening with the vehicle market, giving insight to clients who may be looking to get into another vehicle but don’t know what to look for, or just finding potental damage they didn’t know they had.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I was a bit more into sports, had actually played little league football for four years as well. got quite a few cuts, bruises and scars from that but was defiantly a peak teen era.
Going through high school I didn’t put too much effort into getting much done, having been diagnosed with A.D.D paying attention was definitely a difficult task to achieve, so much that I actually ended up dropping out of high school, but ended up getting my G.E.D seven years later.
