Check Out Nancy Eastman’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nancy Eastman.

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have been a designer all my life and majored in art and design at Colorado State University.

I started as a Corporate Interior Designer and then started my own landscape design-build company. From my built work I became a landscape architect, I have always done some environmental art and have now been doing full-time for the last 4 years.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Working for others and for yourself always has struggles. Its attitude makes the difference along with determination and goals to do what you are best at and how you want to serve and inspire others.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I have always specialized in corporate interior work in the past along with some residences. Then I specialized in water-wise planting and hardscape landscapes that fit our Colorado environment. Along the way, I have selected art and made art with an emphasis on the environment.

I am most proud of the fact that I won design awards for my career choices and that I surrounded myself with wonderfully talented people who became colleagues and inspirations. What sets me apart is I have had 3 successful careers in design and art and stayed consistent with my vision.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Very difficult to stay afloat and not others’ fearfulness affect you. And that I could stay creative through the crisis.
