Check Out Peter Schmid, Do, Faacs’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Peter Schmid, Do, Faacs

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Running my own solo practice always has its challenges. It’s not always a walk in the park.

I am very fortunate to have an exceptional team of dedicated professionals supporting my patients and me.

However, being solo has a lot of benefits, too.

While other doctors now have intense pressure to fit in as many patients as possible with very minimal time allowed to interact with patients (due to corporate and contractual requirements), I am able to dictate time, so I really get to know my patients on a personal, yet professional, level.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
The Art of Aging Gracefully

As a professional sculptor and aesthetic surgeon, I realized early on in my career the importance of a profound understanding of artistic subtleties, gender dichotomy, and harmony to provide his patients with optimal and most natural-looking results.

I have been lecturing and teaching aesthetic surgeons from the onset of my career. Teaching is in my blood. I recognized that medical school requirements do not include a study of aesthetic anatomy and thus surgeons are not trained in the nuances of physical harmony and beauty.

Thus, as my practice evolved over the years, I continued my in-depth study of art and sculpture and, in the early 2000s, I developed my own original workshop, Sculpting for Surgeons TM, dedicated to teaching aesthetic surgeons how to sculpt the human form in clay in order to create a more sophisticated understanding of aesthetics, function, form, harmony. This knowledge has been proven to directly transfer to a surgeon’s recommendations, surgical planning and operating technique.

I have held workshops for surgeons around the world and continue to do so.
