Check Out Priya Matnani’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Priya Matnani.

Hi Priya, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my paged called ‘TheRoamingMatnani’ 4 months ago. We followed covid protocols quite seriously in my house and we isolated ourselves for more than a year. Being an extroverted person, it became hard for me to stay without meeting friends. During this phase, I realized how much time I spent in overthinking about every problem and always thinking of the worst possible scenario. While casually scrolling on Instagram one day I stumbled upon someone’s travel profile. It had a lot of outdoorsy things that I could do even during covid. I was based in Seattle at that time and started planning hikes every weekend. Within a month I found myself cheerful and ready to plan some safe outdoor travels. Thus began the origination of my travel page. I travelled to different places for short periods and explored life out there. I appreciated nature and admired its uniqueness in every different location. Colorado in particular was blissful. The number of scenic hikes and ski resorts here definitely made me fall in love with this state… If covid taught me anything, it would be that life is too short to postpone what you LOVE doing. So, get out there and live your life today!!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In my travel profile, I only post happy and fun memories of every place that I visited. I love capturing as many moments as possible and re-live those trips through photographs. My frequency of posts often made people think that my life is a piece of cake and I am the luckiest person on this earth who has no obstacles. I often replied to such comments saying that, don’t get fooled by what you see on Instagram. People only post a part of their life here. This does not mean they do not face hardships. Such reactions from people often discouraged me from posting further and inflicted jealousy among some.

I feel that every person has their share of sorrows and people spend time on Instagram to forget about those things and laugh on some funny reels or inspire themselves through others’ stories. It is absolutely necessary to not compare your life with someone else’s Instagram profile life.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a techi and work in a product development firm in the bay area. Working from home gave me the opportunity to explore life outside work.
