Today we’d like to introduce you to Raven Overall.
Hi Raven, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
So basically, I was in Portugal on a spur-of-the-moment trip ALONE and I was really loving the food, so I figured, ‘why not document the trip, but with food’ so I started my blog right then and there. Since then, it’s been just me trying my best to get to somewhere new every week or at least once a month. I was in college at the time I started the blog so it was a little easier then. Adult life is kinda busy
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been pretty smooth; I mean as long as I’m hungry there will always be some sort of content, right? It’s hard to get out with a regular 40-hour work schedule but I make do on special occasions and random outings to the city.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
It’s probably gonna be hard to believe, but I am a Civil Engineer. My food blog and fitness blog (@littlebirdfit) are really just side hobbies that bring me so much joy. I work in construction and with that comes long office days and occasionally super long in the field nights. It’s funny because I would say I’m really just known for being a busy body, I do a lot of things from weightlifting to ceramics to design. I have a knack for learning new things and I’m most proud because there hasn’t seemed to be anything I can’t do.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
When it comes to food/blogging, I have not had any luck with that myself. In other aspects of life though I have so I’m sure it’s the same! I would just say find someone who is where you want to be and has good morals and then go from there! Pull inspiration from things in life you see and enjoy and don’t be afraid to ask questions.
