Today we’d like to introduce you to Richard Williams II.

Hi Richard, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m an artist mostly from Louisville, Ky. I say mostly because I was born in Germany but I moved around a few times before growing up in Louisville, KY and surrounding areas. I draw , I make music, I sometimes write or even sing. I began music as a way to counter the pressure my previous job brought me. As a way to “lower my meter” perhaps…it’s since became my passion. I love art in general however music production is my favorite. My inspirations include Tool, Kanye, John Coltrane, Einaudi, Metro Boomin, Jimi Hendrix, Clams Casino, Miles Davis, Prince, Virgil Abloh, Kobe Bryant and many more. My music represents my thoughts sonically, as best as I can paint them at the time.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not even close. I struggled to learn the concepts of music creation, and music theory early on. It was like having your entire closet in one drawer and trying to get ready for work blindfolded. Maybe you grab a sock , maybe it’s swim trunks , maybe it’s a suit, who knows. It was fun however, you end up with some interesting combinations.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an artist but music production is my passion. I go by master rich ẍ. Not a master of you or anyone else just fully the Master of myself. Mind body and spirit. I’m most proud of any song you can find of mine on any platform. Whatever song speaks to you is the one I’m most proud of.

I don’t think I’m much different than others, I just was fortunate enough to make enough mistakes before too many people saw. To make them and learn from them. I was fortunate enough to lose early.
