Today we’d like to introduce you to Samuel Samora.
Hi Samuel, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I didn’t wake up one day and decide I’d be a barber—looking back, it was always in me. My pops used to tell me I was gonna be a barber, and I was always the kid with a fresh new style, switching it up every chance I got.
Still, I didn’t actually pick up the clippers seriously until August 2024. At first, it was just to keep myself looking sharp, then I started cutting cousins and friends. I believed in it so much that for months I walked around looking for people to cut—for free—just to practice and get better.
Life tested me hard. After a breakup, I went homeless basically—sleeping on a friend’s couch, staying at my cousin’s, even driving from Denver to Pueblo and back just to crash in a camper. But through all of that, the clippers never left my hands. Every cut was more than a hustle—it was hope, it was focus, it was my way forward.
In November 2024, I got my own station in the shop. That was proof the grind was paying off. Not long after, I got my own apartment—for my kids and I. That meant more than anything, because now I wasn’t just building for myself, I was building for them.
At the same time, I’ve been rebuilding myself. I’ve been sober from alcohol for 11 months now, and I even went back to church for the first time in years. Strengthening my relationship with God has kept me grounded, reminded me who I am, and given me the faith to keep pushing no matter what.
When I look back, I see how far I’ve come in such a short time—from walking around offering free cuts, couch surfing, to now having my own chair, my own apartment for my kids, and a stronger walk with God.
This isn’t just a job for me—it’s survival, it’s art, it’s hustle, and it’s faith. My dad saw it in me before I did, and now I’m living it every day
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Going through a breakup, quitting my drinking habit, fighting myself mentally, not having a home for my kids, being filled with questions like when is it my time to bounce back, and learning to slowly master my craft day by day.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a barber specializing in clean fades, sharp lineups, and styles that make people feel confident. Since starting in August 2024, I’ve built my skills from the ground up and earned my own station by November. I have a raw personality and I’m a people’s person—my clients know they can talk to me about anything, good or bad. What sets me apart is my precision, dedication, and personal approach, turning my passion into purpose with every cut. I run a Straight A’s Deal — students with straight A’s get a free service because I believe in rewarding hard work. I also offer $10 off for every referral, and after three referrals, you get a free service on me. I’m all about supporting the people who support me — that’s how I keep it real as a people’s person.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can work with me by booking a cut at my chair—I take pride in giving every client a sharp fade and a personal experience. I’m always open to collaborations with other barbers, brands, or creatives who share a passion for style, art, and community. The best way to support me is by following me on Instagram @SosaBlessedHands & booking an appointment. I’m always just a message away and ready to connect.
