Check Out Sarah Gump’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Gump.

Hi Sarah, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have always had a love for photography. I specialize in Fine Art Landscape Photography. I started really getting into it in 2016 and things started to take off from there. I joined the local photography club and was really inspired by the people there. Today I am featured throughout Durango in the Durango and Silverton Narrow-gauge Railroad Museum, the Durango Art Center, and in Essental Magazine for summer/fall of 2022.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The road has been curvy at times. Sometimes I don’t get as many pieces ready when I would like and sometimes people have unrealistic expectations. The great thing about this adventure is that it is whatever I want it to be. I have creative control and that’s important to me.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am known for my Durango Train Series as well as my fine art landscapes. I think what sets me apart from the crowd is my belief in accessibility. I price my pieces to be accessible rather than exclusive. It’s important to me to be able to provide fine art to more people.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I love Radical Acceptance by Tara Brach. That book helps me determine what is in my control and what is not. It is a life changer for sure.
