Hi Sinthia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Photography is often described as a way to capture moments, emotions, and stories through the lens of a camera. For me, photography has been more than just a hobby; it has been a journey of self-discovery, resilience, and passion that began when I was just 11 years old. Armed with a Samsung S1, a phone that many would consider a “potato” in terms of quality, I embarked on my photographic adventure. Despite its limitations, I saw potential in every shot I took, and this early experience ignited a spark that would guide me through the years.

Throughout high school, I nurtured my love for photography, often opting to learn from friends rather than enrolling in formal classes like Adobe. My peers, particularly those involved in the yearbook, became my mentors, providing invaluable advice and insights that helped me develop my skills. I juggled various odd jobs during this time, all while honing my craft and capturing the world through my unique perspective.

However, life took an unexpected turn in December 2020 when I found out I was pregnant. This news brought a whirlwind of emotions and challenges, leading me to take a break from photography and my other pursuits for a year and a half. During this time, I focused on preparing for motherhood and navigating the changes that come with it. It was a period of reflection, growth, and adaptation.

In a serendipitous twist of fate, my husband, who was working as a maintenance man at the time, and his co workers stumbled upon a treasure while cleaning out an apartment. His co-worker had found a plethora of camera equipment, and my husband, recognizing my passion, bought it and gifted it to me. This thoughtful gesture reignited my love for photography and opened a new chapter in my journey.

From late 2021 to mid-2022, I began taking pictures for fun, rediscovering the joy that photography had always brought me. It wasn’t long before I realized that I had developed a unique vibe with my clients and a keen eye for capturing beautiful moments. The quality of my work improved, and I felt a sense of fulfillment that I had missed during my hiatus.

In August 2022, I took a leap of faith and decided to start charging for my services. This decision marked a significant turning point in my life. I transitioned from a passionate hobbyist to a professional photographer, pouring my heart and soul into every session. The joy I felt while working with clients and capturing their special moments was unparalleled. I discovered a newfound confidence in my abilities and a deep appreciation for the art of photography.

Today, I stand proud of the journey I have taken to get to where I am. Photography has become not just a career but a vital part of my identity. It has allowed me to connect with others, tell their stories, and create lasting memories. Each click of the shutter is a reminder of how far I have come, from that young girl with a simple phone to a passionate photographer who embraces the beauty of life through her lens.

As I continue to grow in this field, I look forward to the adventures that lie ahead, capturing moments that inspire and resonate with others. My journey is a testament to the power of passion, resilience, and the magic that happens when we follow our dreams, no matter the obstacles we face.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The reality of starting a new business, it was a rough start. From personal and family issues that slowed my progress, to outside variables that made it difficult. But through every obstacle, was a reward waiting for me at the end, the prize was knowledge, the ability to overcome and learn.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a woman based, 98% Colorado native photographer.

I specialize in colorful elegance + modern fantasy! I am known for, taking a vision and making it a reality.

I am most proud that I have grown in this field, that I’ve networked with fellow photographers and helped a couple of fellow beginner photographers learn skills that make it a little easier!

What sets me apart from others is the fact that I take every session, as it was my own. I shift my perceptive to yours. Kind of like a therapist but now an understanding hype person who edits your photos to give you that confidence boost.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I could only describe success as; an impact to someone/ something that could be life altering. An example I could use is; one of my recent clients had both her father and brother pass away very close together and it was a hard healing journey. She had been closed off for almost 1/2 a year and described herself as “Sinking”. After our session, she told me she found a light that she hadn’t felt since the passing of her brother and father. And to me, that spells success to a tea. Making a difference no matter how big or small.
