Today we’d like to introduce you to SuperStar Kay. Them and their team share their story with us below:

SuperStar Kay’s interest in music was developed at an early age when he was encouraged by his aunt to sing in church. Initially, music was literally just an interest, but fashion design was his passion. It wasn’t until he decided to try his attempt at producing at age 11 and found out he was really good at it and began to nurture that talent. He established Khyng-Jayden Productions in 2001 and was highly successful starting out and produced for artists all over the globe. He made his way to the booth in 2016, initially singing hooks for other artists and eventually recording his very first album, Shadows of August. Since then, he’s released 2 albums, various singles, and a multitude of playlists and has performed in a number of cities across the U.S.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Having the responsibility of writing, producing, and engineering myself and operating with a small team has proven to be rather overwhelming and tiresome at times. Also, while starting my music career in the midst of an industry transition has caused me to have to pivot when it came to getting my music to the masses. Selling physical CDs and developing in-person relationships with fan is a lot easier than relying on digital streams and marketing. As a result of these things there have been times where I’ve fallen in and out of love with the craft itself, but my loyal fans have kept me going.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I consider myself is a triple threat. I feel my ability to rap, sing, and produce coupled with my desire to constantly challenge myself by tapping into various genres and sounds sets me apart from your average recording artist. I’ve gained national recognition with radio airplay, podcast appearances, and shows all over the nation. My music can be found on all major platforms. Although I never really expected the amount of support I’ve received and experiences had; my most proud moments are split between my mom seeing me perform on stage and releasing a song with my then 10-year-old son.

What’s next?
What’s next for SuperStar Kay? Well I plan to continue to create music that my fans can not only enjoy but relate to. I’m currently in the studio working on my next project and making plans for an end-of-year tour.
