Check Out Tammy Cameron’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tammy Cameron.

Hi Tammy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was encouraged to go into business by a friend who changed careers from working at home to working as a realtor. She had limited time and hated shopping, so I volunteered to help clean out her closets and build her a capsule wardrobe that would give her confidence and send the right message as she began her new career.

I totally loved the experience and it energized me. I loved the challenge of finding garments that suited her body type and coloring, as well as her personality. Shortly thereafter, during the pandemic, I decided to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology’s certification program to become an image consultant.

Today, I split my time between image consulting for clients, producing reels and other content for social media, as well as posting a weekly blog on fashion.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest challenges I have faced is that part of being in business, particularly fashion, requires I do social media content.

When I first started out, it was really tough to find my confidence when producing reels for social media. Though I’m much better, I think finding my voice and being able to reflect my personality in a 15-second video will always be challenging.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Originally, I thought that my clients would come to me for help finding an outfit for an upcoming special event, or a job interview. Instead, every single client has asked me to put together a capsule wardrobe for them.

This has meant not only cleaning their closet out but building them a new wardrobe based on their body type, coloring, and needs. As a result, I am an expert in developing capsule wardrobes to suit the needs of my clients in an affordable and practical way.

Most don’t realize that clothing is personal because your appearance reflects who you are. Most of my clients come to me because of a life change: weight loss, a new career, or a change in marital status. My job is to empower clients to feel and look their best when they are confronted with these changes so they can be successful.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, sports were a big part of my life. From it, I learned tenacity and the value of teamwork.

I was always interested in fashion trends too and how to incorporate them into my wardrobe without spending too much money. I also always knew I wanted to go to college out of state and wanted to have a job that was fast-paced, interesting, and made a difference.
