Today we’d like to introduce you to Vincenza Jazenback.
Hi Vincenza, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Ever since I was a little girl, I loved sitting at the sewing machine and learning how to sew and craft. I had a tin of buttons given to me by my grandmother and mother; I loved working with different materials and textiles.
I became interested in making bows and stretch headbands for babies after my two daughters were born. Once the pandemic hit, I put my sewing machine to great use making masks for everyone in need. I have made over 1,000 masks and shortly after, have opened up my small Etsy and Instagram shop!
Since then, I have been customizing denim jackets and shirts, bracelets, knot headbands for children and adults, and embroidering. I love sewing and crafting to make beautiful unique products. I hope to continue learning more and more every day while working and providing for my family.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I put a lot of love and energy into everything I do. There have been many challenging times, especially during the pandemic.
What helped get me through was focusing on doing what I love most; creating magical pieces and having happy customers. I believe there is never enough time but the time you put into doing what you love.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I will not say I love creating one thing. I am pretty well-rounded in creating accessories, but I love creating custom pieces from baby headbands to adult jackets.
Crafting and sewing are my therapy. I love making anything magical, personal, and with special touches. When I look at my products I feel the love and time I put into all I make.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Always keep your lines of communication open.
If you have a passion, continue to learn and you shall grow. Being creative and open-minded will only help your future. There for sure will be bumps in the road, but stay positive and you will succeed!
