Check Out Will DeBause’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Will DeBause.

Will DeBause

Hi Will, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
At 16 I had decided to go all in on creativity. My parents had bought me a camera for my birthday. So I learned the ins and out of it. Creating short films and taking photos.

I was obsessed with coming up with ideas and seeing what other creatives made online.

School was struggle for me. I knew what I wanted in life and school just felt like the opposite direction.

When I graduated highschool, I spent a lot of time continuing to develop my craft while working for companys that wanted the little skill that I had to offer.

During this time, I had discovered a 3D program called blender. It was like taking photos, but in the computer. I could control the light, composition, color… All right there.

I spent 2 years focusing and learning as much as I could about 3D. During COVID, I got laid off from my product photography job at a jewelry store. But because I was learning 3D. I was able to land my current job at an ad agency here in Denver. Which I’ve been at for 4 years now.

I still continue to learn as much as I can. Drawing, 3D, photography, design, AI… With my current goal to take my skills and build my own business.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Its been very easy and very hard, haha.

I struggled a lot in school. Dyslexia, ADHD you name it. I still struggle with basic math and spelling. But I never dwelled on that. I’ve found that I’m better learning on my own through effort and googling.

That’s the difficult part. Something that will be life long.

The easy part is that most every thing I have is due to luck. Lucky that I was born in America. Lucky that my parents let me stay with them till the age of 23. Lucky that I have the job that I have doing creative work. Most people don’t even know what they want in life. I was just lucky to figure that out so early on.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Can I select all 3? Haha.

Everything I do goes hand in hand. I started learning 3D so that I could tell story’s and make my films look better.

I apply the same mindset to everything I do today. Everything is to make my future better and more creative.

Right now, I’m building my own business called Shape Meets Form. A subscription service tailored to com businesses by creating 3D renders of their products for social media, websites and ads.

And I’m doing this so that I can have more creative freedom.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Education and word of mouth. At the end of the day, all I want is to learn and have people know about it.

Everyone I interact with I look at as a source of knowledge.
