Today we’d like to introduce you to Allard (Aly) Jobson.
Hi Allard (Aly), so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m originally from the midwest–Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I went to Iowa State University and studied advertising and psychology, and while studying abroad in Australia, I realized I didn’t really want to work in advertising but I finished my bachelor’s anyway. After I graduated with honors, I pursued a culinary degree at a local community college in Iowa and started working at Camp Courageous shorty after graduating that program. During my time at the camp, I started dating someone who had spent a lot of time in the Denver area and really loved it. When it was time to pursue another opportunity outside hospitality, my then-boyfriend and I made the move to Denver in August 2015. I changed careers and got into professional nannying.
Over the next six years, I helped raise five babies and managed a couple of households, but started feeling like I wanted to do more than be a caregiver. I wanted to connect to people, to find a bigger purpose. I stumbled across a life coaching program that my friend was doing and found it to be the perfect fit for me. I use all of the experiences & education I’ve been through to shape how I coach and find that it has come very intuitively to me. I not only want to work with clients 1:1 to help them stop people pleasing, awaken their authentic selves, and create a life they love…I also want to host workshops for small groups & businesses, plan national and international retreats, become a yoga instructor and incorporate that into my life coaching, and more. I am currently working with another coach in the area to plan a wellness retreat in January of 2023 and creating a mindful book club mastermind series where we do more than just read the book, we provide integration of the material into daily life with group calls, journaling, activities, and more. I feel I have truly found my lifelong career in life coaching and am so thrilled to have the opportunity to connect with and work with people to better themselves & their lives.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Not always! Starting a business was the last thing I ever expected to do, so it has come with its fair share of challenges; funding, setting up an LLC, figuring out social media, investing in a business program, finding a mentor….all of these things have come with some form of difficulty. Being a new entrepreneur has taught me resilience and persistence; I have to keep pushing through the small challenges to be able to handle the bigger ones, and adopting the CEO mindset is harder than I thought it would be.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Authentic Aly Coaching LLC?
I provide 1:1 coaching, group coaching, and transformational retreat experiences. I’m an authenticity coach. I specialize in helping people to stop people pleasing, awaken their true authentic selves, and build a life they love through boundaries, habits, and self-awareness.
What sets me apart from others: I don’t think there are many authenticity coaches out there who specialize in what I do and feel that boundaries truly are the key to freedom and living YOUR life. So many people I know struggle with people pleasing and admiring me for my ability to say no and be unapologetically authentic.
As a coach, I am someone who will show up and hold space for you so you can be truly vulnerable and open without judgment. I will fully support you in your goals and help you to figure out the best path to those goals. I will also help you hold yourself accountable to making these changes. When I choose to work with a client, they can count on me to be 100% in.
Current offerings: 1:1 coaching, 3-6 month programs
Mindful Book Club Mastermind Series: 3-month book club, 1 book per month, starting November 2022
Retreat: January 6-8, within 1.5 hours of Denver, including yoga, mindfulness, coaching sessions, possible massages, sound bath ceremony, and more! All meals included, price depends on the type of room.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Hire a business coach/mentor/someone who has been doing this longer than you to save you time and money. You don’t NEED to spend a lot of money setting up your business but don’t be afraid to buy the things you need & make sure you have a good tax person to consult on write-offs.
