Community Highlights: Meet Ayce Kyptyn of Ayce Kyptyn: Somatic Sexologist

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ayce Kyptyn.

Hi Ayce, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I spent 38 years repressing who I was, because I believed I was wrong, bad, broken, and sinful.

This mentality nearly killed me. I lost my job, family, community, and health all in the matter of days. When my world came crashing in I decided to critically think about how I got to this space.

A major aspect of my life that I repressed centered around my sexuality. My gender, expression, identity, and orientation.

As I began to peel back the layers of hurt it became clear I was living according to everyone else’s terms. I had completely denied and abandoned myself. It was in this moment that I decided to do a complete 180 in my life.

So, I hired a team of professionals: a therapist, a sex coach, and a doctor to help me unpack this. Which lead to an intense journey of healing. For the first time in my life, I found people who deeply cared about me who had the courage to ask, the compassion to acknowledge and the empathy to accept me for who I authentically am.

I truly believe if someone can feel the presence of you and your love…without the pressure to explain, fix, or change that’s enough to shift the energy in a new direction. And, this is why I do what I do today: I expertly hold space for all of you to exist.

When all of you can exist, everything changes. Everything.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This is sacred work: I’m on a mission to help individuals authentically express themselves!

As a Somatic Sexologist, I am professionally resourced to help my clients explore their gender, identity, expression, and orientation. Through this somatic inquiry, my clients learn how to slow down and attune to whatever is arising in the moment. From this space, we learn how to live a more centered lifestyle, grounded in who we authentically are.

What sets me apart from other providers is that this started as a personal journey of deep inquiry. I had no intention of this becoming my profession, I simply needed to do the work for myself. In that process I hired some of the top sexologist in the world to do a deep dive into this space, and it was through this process where I realized that everyone needs to experience this. I can remember laying on my providers table for my first session thinking: “what the hell am I doing here.” It felt so vulnerable, because it was! I firmly believe that I can’t (ethically) take someone where I haven’t been. I’ve done the work. I’ve gone into the depths of my soul and I’m continuing to go there.

So much of the pain that we all feel, is simply loneliness in the loss of who we are and I truly believe that if we can hold space for all of one to exist, we can then learn how to live into our authenticity and transmute this pain into pleasure.

There’s a depth of healing in this space that I’ve been unable to find in any other modality. It’s real, it’s raw, it’s vulnerable and it’s worth it. You are worth it. Let’s go there. Let’s ask the hard questions and live into our authenticity!

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I’m a Jeeper, so naturally most of our time would be exploring the great outdoors!

The best Jeep trail in Colorado, in my opinion is either Poughkeepsie Gulch or Black Bear pass…but neither of these are for beginners! If you’re newer to off-roading a safer option would be Crystal Mill.

There are some really great places to explore as a tourist, but I tend to enjoy the hidden places only the locals really know about. There’s a creek at the base of the mountains here in Boulder that has a man made whirl pool that is simply delightful off Lefthand Creek Drive.

I also take my friends over to Horsetooth Resevoir and Carter Lake in Larimer County.

When it comes to food, I’m definitely a foodie, and there’s alot of great places to explore out here. One of my favorites in Longmont is West Side Tavern, and when I’m in Boulder and want to splurge a bit I head over to Il Pastaio or Blackbelly.
