Community Highlights: Meet Belinda Swanson of Queen B Esthetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Belinda Swanson.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My story begins with playing in my mom’s makeup at 5yrs. old & tweezing my friends’ eyebrows in 5th grade. Fast forward to when I was 25 yrs. old when I received my 1st facial treatment thinking this can’t be a real job… sitting in a calm dark room with relaxing music, massaging faces, making people feel amazing. After, 2 yrs. of research, I decided to leave my career as a dental assistant & pursue a career in the wonderful world of Esthetics! Here I am in my 15th year as an Esthetician & I still have so much love & passion for this industry as I did 15 yrs. ago. My first job out of esthetics school was at a local day spa here in Centennial, CO. I was there for 5 yrs. where I had wonderful clientele, friends, and training. It also helped train new employees which I really enjoyed which led me down the path to go into teaching Esthetics for over 7 yrs. at 2 different schools and also spending some time as a sales representative for a local skincare company. Come 2020 I was laid off as were many people. It gave me time to process what was my next step or challenge. I decided to take action and go for my dream and start my own business as an Esthetician. I’m so grateful for my journey, experience, and growth in Esthetics. I am so excited to be living my dream & helping people feel beautiful in their skin!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Life always has its challenges but it creates growth. Esthetics is an ever-changing industry, it’s hard to keep up on the latest greatest trends from skincare products, treatments, and makeup it can be overwhelming. I try to stay grounded and focused on what I believe in, what keeps me motivated, passionate about esthetics and my clients. I truly love all my clients, spending one on one time with them, building a relationship & trust between us!

As you know, we’re big fans of Queen B Esthetics. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I have always told my students, Esthetics is such an amazing career because you have so many options on what you can do, be or specialize in this industry such as waxing, makeup, facials, sales, and much more but besides that people are allowing & trusting us in their personal space. I believe that is sacred. I always do my treatments with mindfulness and intention which I would hope that sets me apart. I love to do progressive treatments such as dermaplane, plasma pen, chemical peels, microneedling & microderm. I want everyone to feel like they received the Queen B Royal Treatment when they leave. I believe everyone deserves to feel beautiful women and men!

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Nothing comes easy but with passion and determination you can make your dreams come true!
