Community Highlights: Meet Brianna Carey of B. Carey Inc.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna Carey.

Hi Brianna, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
When I was 26, I stepped out of the corporate world and into my solopreneur journey. This is the same moment my business was born. I started off creating social media content, writing, mostly and soon realized how much I not only loved writing and design but how I could turn these writing and self-taught design skills into a fruitful business. Here I am 7 years later, specializing in all sorts of collaborative creation, focused on, but not limited to brand development, website design, graphic design, and social media strategy.

In addition to my creative work, I received my 200-hour yoga teacher certification in 2013. In 2020, I received my 300-hour yoga teacher certification from Tina Porter. I was lucky enough to then continue my yoga education with some of Denver’s finest teachers including some private mentorship with Dakini Jaeger. I have gone on to teach around 2,500 hours of yoga and to teach a multitude of workshops. This became another arm of B. Carey Inc. where I could help others find their strengths in their physical and mental manifestations.

In 2021, I began an ancestral medicine apprenticeship, or Kupulli, with Nataline R. Cruz, the proprietor and Maestra of Strawberry Moon Energetics. My work on myself at Strawberry Moon Energetics, and in community with Strawberry Moon Energetics has given me a deeper purpose and a bolder and higher perspective to work through and from.

B. Carey Inc. was officially born in the Summer of 2023 to house all of my offerings.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As much as I was doing business alone, I was never alone as I managed many people and their personalities.

I realized that I was not only a solopreneur in the beauty and design department, but I was also a project manager, an accountant, a social media manager, a brand therapist, an actual therapist, a yoga teacher, a student of life, and a friend to many. I was not alone at all, and I had no idea the amount of time and project/people management being a business owner would require. My solopreneur life helped me figure out the ways the threads of my chosen work/lifestyle help to in fact weave the tapestry of my life.

I am eternally grateful for creative coffees, inspirational talks, system and software hacks, and for surrounding myself with people who know more than me. Being all of these things is challenging and learning to delegate tasks, or ask for help, without giving away the keys to your kingdom, changes the game. Doing what you love is way easier with the support of the community and their wisdom.

I am a creative, specializing in brand development; a medicine carrier, continuing my studies; and a yoga teacher with almost 11 years of experience. I know our inherent essence is brilliant, bold, and worthy. Through collaborative branding or a rededication to your Soul’s work, we can bring your essence and inspiration to fruition.

I am multifaceted and each branch of my business touches the other. One does not exist without the other and I have an understanding of working on each manifestation– physical, emotional mental, and spiritual.

Who else deserves credit for your story?
Carleen Clearwater owns Kickass Marketing & Creative and is local to Denver. I met her networking in the first 6 months of running my business back in 2017. I was looking for new clients and all I had was a poorly printed tri-fold brochure.

Shortly after that, and a few inspiring coffees later she gifted me my first business card, encouraged me to learn Adobe, invited me to do work on The About Pages, and I hit the ground running. I needed someone like her to show me the ropes. She still shows me the ropes and is one of the most inspiring business owners, colleagues, and friends, in my life.

Nataline R Cruz is the proprietor and Maestra of Strawberry Moon Energetics where we learn, experience community, and learn how we can liberate our souls and liberate the souls of others. She has given me the greatest lessons in following my bliss and is an exemplary human and community maker.

I have worked on so many projects large and small, with other solopreneurs, with small business owners, with medium-sized businesses, and with teams to help strategize and execute all sorts of projects and offerings.

All of my working and personal relationships have been inspiring and impactful. I am surrounded by business owners and creative minds alike. I sit at a table with some cool people and I am grateful for all of these working relationships, and friendships.
