Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Krieg.
Hi Brittany, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Like many people in the Interior Design industry, it all started with a fascination with HGTV and TLC growing up. I loved seeing the transformations, and how positively it could impact someone’s life through a well-designed home.
I decided to go to school for Interior Design, and following graduation fell in love with Residential Design. Connecting with my clients, getting to know them and their style, and elevating their spaces can be so rewarding. After working at a few different firms, and learning a few different takes on the design process, I decided to start BODHI Interiors.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a road… smooth? Not necessarily. But, needed, nonetheless.
I’ve dabbled in different aspects of the Interior Design Industry, figuring out what I like, what I don’t like, where my passion lies, and ultimately landing on starting my own company.
I’ve learned a ton along the way, and have a long road ahead of me. But, for me, Interior Design goes beyond creating pretty content to put on Pinterest but aims to have a positive impact on the client’s day-to-day life.
As you know, we’re big fans of BODHI Interiors. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
BODHI Interiors specializes in Residential Interior Design. BODHI is translated as full enlightenment, a state of bliss, or being free from greed and ego.
Our aim is exactly that. To rid you of the expectations that Pinterest and HGTV have created for Interior Design. Although we live in a materialistic society, you don’t need to buy more or *copy and paste* what you see on Pinterest to achieve a home that reflects you, works for you, and makes you happy.
We like to truly get to know the client and allow their home to be a reflection of their unique personality and story. We do that by using what people already have, where possible, upcycling existing pieces as needed, and finishing the space off using locally sourced, sustainably-made, and vintage items as much as we can to create a one-of-a-kind space, just like you!
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love the melting pot of Denver – it has drawn in people all across the country and world, and with that so many friendly faces looking to make connections. Plus, the vicinity of the mountains is the best.
I wish there were more vintage shops, architectural salvage yards, and antique shows. So many have closed down, so that’s something the city is lacking.
