Community Highlights: Meet Carmen Parepa of Carmen P. Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carmen Parepa.

Hi Carmen, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started working in the casino industry when I turned 18. I came to the US 11 years ago and I continued working in casinos,but my heart was always attracted to art,architecture and photography.

In 2024 I finally quit my full time job and I started pursuing wedding photography,being highly encouraged by my life partner.
We have a 7 year old son together and we like to live a planned life as much as a chaos one filled with decisions on the fly.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not a smooth road,it is always work in progress. Lots to learn and lots of mistakes to make and learn from.
My biggest struggle businesswise is marketing and regular posting on social media. It is a necessary evil,but it just does not represent me.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in wedding photography and capturing moments that will be cherished for years.
I like to connect with my clients (couples) and make them comfortable in front of the camera. I am proud of my friendly and yet professional style of running my business. I take pride in my couples feeling loved,cared for ,have a great time and an amazing album at the end of the day.

Being a wedding photographer is more than just a person taking some pictures. I am also a problem solver,a trusted helper,planner,a day hype girl and a fan of my couples. I am all in all day.

I also believe that my services should be resonably priced and accessible to a wide range of budgets. I feel like this is my gift to the world because I absolutely love taking pictures and I am in this for the passion and the love for my craft ,not for the money.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Learn and practice as much as you can.Make yourself undeniable.
