Community Highlights: Meet Casey Banker of KayBay Entertainment

Today we’d like to introduce you to Casey Banker.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I began this business in 2021 after working for a few other DJ agencies. I realized that I enjoyed working with clients throughout the entire booking and planning process for weddings.

I purchased advertising on the Knot in 2021 and began to book my own events. I had a few personal bookings throughout 2022. In 2023, I debuted my website and worked with a content designer on it. Bookings have picked up in 2023 and now I have 2 DJ kits and hope to continue to book dates in the future.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Putting together a 2nd DJ kit this year was a bit of a challenge. Happy to say that we have completed it now and are ready to get it out there!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a boutique full-service DJ and Entertainment service. We specialize in weddings, parties, corporate events, and mitzvahs. We give personal DJ experience and offer professional DJ mixing.

We love to work closely with clients to ensure they get professional vendor support on their big day. We also offer uplighting and dance floor lighting in addition to photo booth options, and a fog machine!

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I am a songwriter with a band called Modern Leisure. I’ve released music with over 100,000 streams on Spotify and Soundcloud and am hoping to release more music in the next year!

• DJ/MC Entertainment (4 Hours) – $1150
• Uplighting – $250
• Photobooth – $600
• Additional hours can be added at $200/hour
