Community Highlights: Meet Charlene Janke of Lash Out Loud Beauty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Charlene Janke.

Hi Charlene, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
When I graduated from esthetician school in 2021, trying to find a job was close to impossible. You either need 5 years of experience or certifications galore to get a decent job. Otherwise, you’re stuck with giving Brazilian waxes all day or working for a lash business that pays pennies and works you to the bone.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Quitting a full-time job while trying to raise two kids in the middle of a pandemic to start a business is insane. My husband has been my biggest cheerleader and motivating me to do anything and everything.

I’m constantly worried that I’m not doing the right thing for our family, or how to get more clients in the door. But with the amount of flexibility my job allows me, all the sweat and tears are worth it.

We’ve been impressed with Lash Out Loud Beauty Co., but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a licensed esthetician who offers lash extensions, lash lifts and tints, brow lamination and tinting, waxing services, and facials. But my bread and butter are lash extensions.

I think the fact that I’m real and down to earth is what sets me apart. I pride myself in my customer service, understanding the needs of every client and personalizing each set of lashes to custom fit each client’s eye shape, face shape, and lifestyle.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love how beautiful our city is, but I hate how populated it has gotten.
