Community Highlights: Meet Christian Noel of Noel Media House

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christian Noel.

Christian Noel

Hi Christian, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I always had a passion for video production, it was something I started doing in highschool with my friends, back then we would just make videos of things we liked, skiing, skateboarding, and lots of action sports. I ended up going to College for business up in Vancouver, Canada and there I found I had a passion for entrepreneurship but I wanted to learn more about the technical side of filmmaking because I never went to film school.

After graduating I worked for 2 years at a marketing firm but that got stale pretty quick and so I moved on to work for a video production company in Vancouver. That was an awesome experience because it was able to provide what I was looking for at the time, hard skills in filmmaking. Our clients were mostly Red Bull, lululemon, Arc’teryx, the outdoor brands, so that really interested me at first.

The company was small and I wore many hats, so consequently I learned a lot about client management, juggling projects, and delivery quality work consistently.

But after 4 years working there, I still had that itch of entrepreneurship and started looking at how I could pull it off.
I moved to Denver and continued to work remote and it was late 2022 when I started create a game plan to leave and launch my own company.

I officially launched Noel Media House Jan 1st 2023 and it’s been an awesome journey. I’ve been able to take what I’ve learned in my time working with top, global brands and apply it to my own clients. I’m a big believer in the quality video being the best way to communicate a message and speak to an audience. I’ve spent a lot of time learning ways to make the best possible videos and also the strategy to ensure they perform for our clients. The blend of creative video production and video marketing strategies has been really rewarding and are things I’m equally passionate about.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s definitely not been a smooth journey, coming from a very creative background I had a lot to learn about running a business. When I first started out a lot of my business came from word of mouth and I got super lucky with some amazing clients that had a strong vision for what they wanted. The creation process was very natural and organic, but once I started to work with businesses who were new to video I quickly learned I needed to have a process and journey for the client.

I had to learn everything from outreach to a professional onboarding process. I think one of the biggest challenges was learning to communicate why people should invest in video production, because I came from world where video was a no brainer to big brands, so being able to communicate how and why this helps businesses was a struggle at first.

On the personal side a big challenge was just switching gears into being a full time entrepreneur was and still can be very intimidating, but I’m getting the hang of it.

Any big plans?
Plans for the future are just continued growth, we’re a relatively young company, so I want to make sure we bring the best results for our clients and level up and get better with each video we produce.

Long term plans, I’d love to get a studio space so we can bring clients in house more often and get really creative.
