Community Highlights: Meet DaVon’tae Williams of Saavy Sports

Today we’d like to introduce you to DaVon’tae Williams.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my sports blog Saavy Sports around a year or so ago. I decided to start it because I’m a huge sports fan. My favorite sport is the NFL. On my sports blog, that’s the sport I talk about. Almost every day I talk sports with my friends or family. Starting my sports blog, I wanted to share my sports opinion with the world. I believe my sports blog is something I can grow into something unique and give people a different look at sports than the normal sports media.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. One struggle I have is staying constant. Sometimes I will get in a mood to write and upload blog posts then next I’ll be in the mood to not write. I need to work on it because constantly uploading helps you get your name out. Another struggle is finding something to write about. One day I will have so many ideas on what to write and then the next day, I have nothing. The last struggle I have is when a post I think will blow up and get the views, and it doesn’t. That can be a little frustrating because you work hard on a blog post and want the hard work to pay off. I just know I have to be patient and everything will work out.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What to know about my business Saavy Sports is that it’s a sports blog. What I do on my sports blog is write about the NFL. Eventually, I would like to expand on writing about other sports but for now, the NFL is good. Saavy Sports is known for writing about the NFL. I write about anything in the NFL. What sets me apart from other sports blogs or the media, is that I will write about the NFL teams that don’t get talked about. I’m most proud of my brand with my unique logo and how I pay attention to teams that don’t enough coverage online or on tv. What I want readers to know about Saavy Sports is that, if you want a different look at the NFL, this is the place to be. I’m willing to work with others on a collab and even guess write for someone else. If there’s anything my readers want me to talk about, they can message me and I will look into writing about it. I’m always open to listening to my readers.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
The role of luck has played well in my life and business. In the sense of me being able to do this. Talking about sports on my blog is amazing to me. Having people come across your sports blog and find out how they found it is great. It is truly a blessing when I get new readers to my blog. I thank everyone and anyone who has read or helped me to this point. I know some people don’t get to do something they want to work on and grow. When I look at it, my luck has been good and I hope it continues to be.
