Community Highlights: Meet Diego Figueroa of Doctor Duck Mobile Mechanic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diego Figueroa.

Hi Diego, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I founded Doctor Duck Mobile Mechanic after witnessing too many people, especially the women in my fiancée’s family, being taken advantage of in the auto industry. Too often, good people overpay for subpar service. I set out to change that by bringing dealership-quality expertise directly to customers, with honesty, fairness, and convenience.

I’ve been in the automotive industry for over a decade. I started Doctor Duck Mobile Mechanic in 2024 using paper invoices and treating this as side work. Very quickly however, I started using a more formal invoicing software, acquired my llc and even am able to offer warranties with all my repairs!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been a very rocky road from the company’s inception to where it is today. The first major struggle was finding clients and making a name for myself. I started off using my personal vehicle which would be packed full of tools and was often times over encumbered. The shift from just being an automotive technician to a full on business owner and service advisor at the same time was also another hurdle to be able to be juggle all of the hats to provide the customer a thorough experience

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I believe that in order to to grow there will be many risks to take. Owning a small business itself is a risk. Doctor Duck going full time will be a risk itself.
