Hello, I am Ellie Chun, the owner of SLA Medical Spa. Six years ago, I moved from Korea to Colorado, bringing with me a rich background in skincare that I had cultivated over 13 years of professional experience in both New York and Seoul. As many of you might know, Korea is celebrated worldwide for K-Beauty and its advanced skincare systems, far surpassing those found anywhere else.

I earned my Master’s degree in Cosmetology in Korea, where I also accumulated a vast array of expertise and knowledge in the field. With this extensive background, I founded SLA Medical Spa in Colorado two years ago, with the goal of bringing an unparalleled level of skincare services, typically exclusive to Korea, to the local community.

Embarking on this journey with SLA Medical Spa has been a fulfilling endeavor, though not without its challenges. The most significant hurdle I encountered was navigating the language barrier. Moving from Korea to Colorado brought about a substantial shift in language and communication styles, which initially posed a challenge in both personal interactions and business operations.

The language barrier was not just about speaking English but also about understanding the nuances of communication in a business context within a different culture. This challenge required me to quickly adapt and learn, not only to effectively communicate with our clients but also to ensure that our spa’s values and the essence of K-Beauty were accurately conveyed.

Despite these struggles, the journey has been immensely rewarding. Overcoming the language barrier has allowed me to bridge cultural gaps and bring a unique blend of Korean skincare excellence to our clients in Colorado. It has also taught me the importance of patience, resilience, and the willingness to learn and grow from every situation.

These experiences have shaped both me and SLA Medical Spa into what we are today: a place where language and culture converge to create a unique skincare experience.
