Community Highlights: Meet Emily Garcia of Tribe Mind Body Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Garcia.

Emily, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I actually started Tribe Mind Body Wellness in my basement! At the time, I was balancing being a mom, a therapist, and someone with a big dream of creating a space where people could truly belong. I’ve always believed wellness is more than just mental or physical health- it’s about connection and community.

After years of working in schools and community settings as a therapist, I saw how deeply people longed to feel seen and supported. That realization led me to start Tribe. From there, I hired a business coach, slowly built a team of incredible therapists, and continued expanding ways that we could serve our community with everything from individual therapy to retreats and community events.

In the last few years, my work has also evolved beyond the therapy room. I’ve been growing as a keynote speaker, which has been such an exciting and fulfilling part of my journey. I love helping audiences understand how to relieve stress and bring more joy into their lives. Whether I’m speaking to business owners, educators, or community leaders- it is relevant to all of us.

Now, with two beautiful offices in Arvada and Lakewood, a thriving team, and a podcast called SoulStirred: Stories of Growth and the Human Experience, I feel like I’m living out the vision that started in that little basement: creating spaces for people to heal, connect, and grow.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No way! It’s definitely been a winding road. One of the hardest seasons of my life was losing my dad suddenly. Grieving that loss while still showing up as a therapist, business owner, and leader was incredibly challenging. I had to learn how to take care of myself while continuing to hold space for others- and that’s not easy when your heart feels broken.

Another big part of my growth has been learning to use my voice with confidence. I used to say yes to everything, wanting to help everyone and do it all. But over time, I’ve realized that saying no is actually an act of integrity. It protects my energy, my team, and the vision of what Tribe stands for. And, it means that I can really show up at my best for the things I’ve agreed to do.

As you know, we’re big fans of Tribe Mind Body Wellness. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Tribe Mind Body Wellness is a holistic counseling practice with offices in Arvada and Lakewood, Colorado. We help people navigate life’s challenges through individual therapy, groups, workshops, and retreats- all designed to foster connection and growth.

Tribe was built on the belief that wellness goes beyond the mind and body- it includes community and purpose, too. Our therapists specialize in everything from anxiety and trauma to parenting, relationships, and life transitions, but what truly sets us apart is the atmosphere we create. People walk in and say, “It just feels different here.” That’s the magic of Tribe.

I’m also really proud of how our brand has grown beyond traditional therapy. We host and c0-host community events like our Crafts & Connections series, women’s gatherings, and retreats that bring people together in meaningful ways. And as we’ve grown, my own work as a keynote speaker has become a natural extension of our mission- to help people feel inspired to live with intention.

If there’s one thing I want readers to know, it’s that Tribe isn’t just a therapy practice, it’s a community. Whether someone comes in for counseling, attends a retreat, or hears me speak at an event, the goal is always the same: to help people feel more at home in themselves and in their lives.
