Community Highlights: Meet Gabriella Latona of Gab and Company

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriella Latona

Hi Gabriella, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have always loved to collect antiques, and hunt for vintage, because of the stories these pieces tell. I started going to thrift stores and flea markets as a kid. Immediately I was completely mesmerized. In more recent years, I started going to Estates Sales and quickly became addicted to the whole process. The thrill and the hunt keep me constantly searching for more! It’s like a competitive sport, with the quirkiest players and an amazing community. After the 2020 pandemic, when we were all stuck in our homes, I saw an uptick in consumers purchasing things quickly for that fast hit of dopamine- that ultimately leads to a lot of waste. In addition to that, fast fashion has no character. I had curated such a large collection that I was ready to start selling pieces to new their new forever homes, in hopes of spreading the idea of slow shopping, reducing waste, and embracing the history that antiques possess. Sustainability is something we can start small with in our own lives. Every aspect of my business I work to make as sustainable as possible, from my business cards to my shipping and beyond.

I started my business in 2021. I immediately started participating in pop-up markets around Denver, and surrounding areas. I have a background in events so my first pop-up was a breeze and still to this day one of my best events. Since then, I have participated in markets all around Denver both large and small. I have hosted my own events and workshops including the 2023 Tarot and Tea Party.

The small business community in Denver is outstanding. I have always been inspired by artisans and the creatives in my life, aka The Company I Keep- from my family and friends to inspiring new faces. I find so much inspiration in each and everyone I know. I know everyone has a story to tell. I wanted a platform not only for myself but to showcase the passion and drive of all the people around me. I also co-host a podcast, called Magic Makers, debuting this fall! Which also highlights small business in Denver, and beyond, and pursuing passion.

Gab and Company started out as my side hustle while I worked full time in the tech industry. 2024 brought a lot of drastic changes to my life and I decided to dive full time into being a small business owner and expanding my operations.
After entering in the small business community, I was even more inspired. The innovators in Denver keep me motivated and make every market worth it! I have expanded my “And Company” portion of my business to “Good Company”. I work with small businesses on web development, social media strategy, marketing, content creation- in short offering personalized strategies and practical solutions that build stronger, more scalable operations. With me you are in Good Company.

I had no idea starting this side project in 2021 would lead my life into the creative sphere today and it is scary at time to be a female small business owner, but ultimately so exciting!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting Gab and Company has definitely been a journey. It has not by any means been a direct road, and sometime when you start out on a journey you don’t really know where you are going or the end destination. I never planned to be working for myself full time. I would be remiss by not saying that there have been a lot of challenges along the way. Figuring out the best markets to participate in, who my cliental is, and expanding my business to another level, have all been challenges I have had to look at head on and tackle them.

However, I’ve learned a lot and wouldn’t trade it for anything. Going out there and taking risks is how we grow, it teaches us so many invaluable lessons we could not learn otherwise. It shows us we are capable of more then we ever thought.

I don’t think I’m nearly halfway through this journey but I try to embrace every step.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Gab and Company started out as a way for me to participate, support and engage with my community. Originally focused on offering unique vintage and antique pieces, we aimed to reduce the impact of fast shopping by promoting the use of already existing, well made products and encouraging second-hand shopping. Sustainability is still at the heart of what we do, and this mindset has influenced the way we approach helping small businesses today. Before I started Gab and Company, I already had a deep love for community. My inspirations draws from the family and friends in my life who are creatives, and I believe there is creativity in every single one of us. Once I started Gab and Company I was introduced to more creatives in the Denver Small business community and amazed even more then I thought I could be.

As we’ve grown, Gab and Company has evolved into a business consultancy, Good Company, but our core values of sustainability and thoughtful consumption remain. We specialize in helping small businesses scale with customized strategies that are both effective and sustainable. I have a unique perspective and qualifications to do this, as a small business owner myself and a background in marketing and tech. Whether it’s helping a business streamline operations or tap into their natural creativity, we bring the same mindful approach to everything we do. I still participate in many markets around Denver and tap into my own creativity.

What sets us apart is our commitment to creating long-term, sustainable growth for our clients. We don’t just deliver strategies; we partner with small business owners to implement change that aligns with their goals and values. This hands-on, personalized support is what makes Gab and Company truly unique.

Brand-wise, we are most proud of our origins in sustainability and the lasting relationships we build with clients. Our services cover everything from marketing strategy to operational consulting, always with an eye on both growth and responsible business practices. We want readers to know that Gab and Company is here to help small businesses not only grow but do so in a way that aligns with their values—whether that’s sustainability, efficiency, or innovation.

What does success mean to you?
I will have to quote Ralph Waldo Emerson on this one:
“To laugh often and much: To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you lived. This is to have succeeded.”

Pricing:
