Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaime Cawthron.
Hi Jaime, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I earned a degree in Journalism, specializing in PR, from Texas A&M University. While in college, I met my husband, Bobby. He had just been accepted into veterinary school when we started dating. We purchased a vet hospital in 2006 and moved from Austin to Fort Collins.
At the clinic, all Bobby wanted to do was practice medicine so it fell upon me to operate the business. When we started I had 1 receptionist and 1 vet tech. When we sold the practice in 2021 I had a support staff of 39 and 4 full-time doctors. I fell in love with entrepreneurship and building something great!
I describe myself as a seasoned entrepreneur with a deep-rooted passion for business ventures. I bought my first company in 2006. After successfully selling it in 2021, I thought I would retire, get a hobby, and spend time with my friends and family. After about a year, however, the allure of entrepreneurship beckoned me towards a new and thrilling endeavor.
It was during this time that I stumbled upon a hidden gem of a furniture store nestled just down the street from my residence. The store’s charming ambiance immediately resonated with me, and I knew I had found something special. I approached the owner and expressed my interest in purchasing the business. To my delight, and surprise, the owner agreed, opening the door to a new chapter for an extraordinary furniture and home decor brand: Change Everything.
My vision for Change Everything is to create beautiful, warm, and functional spaces that drive people home. “I am so proud to have a team of stylists who share my unwavering focus on impeccable taste and aesthetic appeal. We aspire to leave a lasting impression on every customer who walks through our doors.”
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Business ownership is never a smooth road. We are, of course, a retail store.
We sell furniture home accessories and decor. The struggle has been finding our niche and figuring out what exactly our customers want and how to get them into the store. During our first year, we could weeks without making a sale. It was really scary and frustrating.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Change Everything is the premier furniture store and interior design destination in Fort Collins. We serve all of northern Colorado, Cheyenne, and Laramie. We specialize in using our curated collection of furniture, art, floor coverings, and décor to create stunning spaces.
We offer in-home design consultations, as well as, design contracts, which offer our customers white-glove service. Our designers have access to our extensive network of over 49 private suppliers. This allows us to carefully curate a selection of high-quality products that will perfectly suit each customer’s home.
As the owner and lead buyer, I go to great lengths to find affordable quality products. We work hard to help people allocate their design budget, whatever that amount is, wisely and in a way that will accomplish their goals. Everyone deserves to have a beautiful home that they are proud of. We’re here to help!
Our inventory and showroom are constantly changing. Every time a customer visits the store, things should be a little different. In addition to our well-stocked furniture store, we also keep a well-stocked warehouse. Whether someone is looking for a unique house-warming gift, a new dining table, or needs to furnish an entire room, Change Everything has what you need.
Furniture and home decor are so unique and inspiring that you’ll want to… change everything.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up.
My favorite childhood memory is spending summers with my grandfather on his ranch in northern New Mexico. I started spending my summers with him when I was in kindergarten and continued all through my high school years.
When I was really little he would have to walk me to class on the first day of school just to get me to come home.
