Hi Jené, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
From Childhood Passion to Lifelong Dream: My Photography Journey

Photography has always been a part of my soul for as long as I can remember. I recall being 7 years old falling in love with the magic of freezing time with a Kodak disposable camera. Capturing a moment, a feeling, a story in a single frame and having it forever to cherish was something that deeply inspired me. My aunt saw this passion in me and gifted me a high-end camera, sparking what would become an ever-growing love for the art. She even helped me build my collection of lenses, fueling my obsession and further igniting the fire in my heart. Through my teenage years, I took photos of everyday life, nature, and the world around me; each frame a testament to my deep-rooted love for storytelling through imagery. But life had other plans for me. Watching my mom struggle to pay bills was heartbreaking, and I felt a deep responsibility to create stability for our family. That sense of duty led me to the medical field, where I built my career focused on helping others while ensuring my mom had the support she needed and deserved.

Yet, as I approached my 30th birthday, I had a realization that hit me like a bolt of lighting — life was sadly passing me by. The dream that had been sitting in my heart for decades refused to be ignored. Photography was never just a hobby; it was my calling! The thought of reaching the end of my life with the regret of not fulling pursuing it was something I could not accept. So, I made a promise to myself: I will live this dream – no more waiting – no more wondering. I am stepping into the life I was meant to live, camera in hand, heart full of passion, ready to capture not just moments but the feeling and soul behind them!

This is only the beginning.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a journey filled with a great deal of of self-doubt, imposter syndrome and the challenge of shifting from a completely different industry into the creative world of art! After spending years in the medical field, stepping into photography full-time felt intimidating, like I didn’t quite belong yet. I would see stunning work from other professionals on social media over and over again, and instead of feeling inspired, I often found myself thinking, “I am too far behind. I don’t have what it takes.”

But I have realized that those limiting beliefs don’t have to drive my life, my career or my journey any longer. I’m learning to put self-doubt in the back seat and authenticity and creativity in the driver side. I have an incredible support system that believes in me, and everyday, I remind myself that I deserve to live this passion just as much as anyone else. Growth takes time. One of the most beautiful parts of being a creative is that it takes practice and learning and fine-tuning. I feel so resilient for not giving up on what my soul has been calling me towards. The road may not be smooth, but I’m embracing every challenge as part of my story that makes me, and my work, unique and special. I am behind proud of myself for overcoming the struggles along the way and not giving up.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Portrait, Wedding/Elopement and Lifestyle photographer based in Denver, Colorado.

Whether it’s welcoming your newest family member as you become parents for the first time, or you’re celebrating your engagement, or eloping in the Rocky Mountains – I got you covered! I am known for bringing peace of mind, getting my clients to feel comfortable in front of the camera and letting go of any control. You can count on me to be your best friend offering jokes and uplifting my clients to get them to laugh, to feel at ease and capturing the natural feeling that come with being comfortable with your photographer.

What sets my work apart from others is the art of noticing the fleeting moments as they come — the touch, the quick/dramatic look, the emotion behind the intimacy. Sometimes the best images are the ones that are not planned or prompted, but the authentic moments in between. I am proud of the nostalgia that comes with my brand. Capturing a love story the same way whether its an in-home session on the couch, or a dramatic wedding day in the fall – my love language is imagery and that is what you can count on with my service.

I want my readers to know that my business was created from love, with a great deal of passion, creativity woven throughout and a ton of bravery to start. My services and what I offer is, often, more than what you sign up for and will keep you coming back for more. What makes you happy?
I love this question so much! Thank you for asking it.

Witnessing love and joy make me so happy. The ability to make people laugh. A memory that you could still feel years later. Golden hours, golden hours, golden hours!!! My dog wagging his tail when he hasn’t seen me in 10 minutes. Seeing kids play. Hearing my mom snort as she belly laughs. Watching someone light up as they talk about something they’re inspired by. My husband believing in me before I believe in myself. Being in nature witnessing the sky change. Feeling the universe have my back. Connection, warmth, harmony, tenderness, affection — these are a few things I adore that make my heart melt and my soul happy. Why? The symbolism and hope. The sense of peace. The beauty and awe. The way anxiety and depression dissolve away when you’re in a totally breathtaking moment.
