Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica White.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
When I hit my early 30s, I hit a maturity level that challenged me to do something more with my life. Being an outdoors adventure-seeking woman sets me apart from my peers. However, the more I focused on doing things outdoors, the harder time I had finding things with other women.
Wander Woman was established to provide a platform for connecting with other women and highlighting their adventures. There is something deeply satisfying, and connecting, about sharing experiences and knowledge with others. Not only do they provide great storytelling material later, but they also provide new lessons about ourselves and our abilities that we did not know we possessed.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I wouldn’t say it has been a smooth road to get to where we are. Even now there are learning moments and growth in owning a business.
I have spent most of my life in the outdoors, but I didn’t know who to reach out to when I started Wander Woman to put on clinics. Networking has become the best thing for our business, and we have met so many supportive groups that help us succeed.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Wander Woman Kansas was developed to bring women together in a tough outdoor industry that can be difficult to navigate alone. We love trying new techniques and practicing outdoor skills frequently.
We encourage and strengthen each other by participating in outdoor clinics, events, and gatherings. Our group provides a comfortable environment for personal growth for each woman in the outdoors. We empower women to learn, grow, and enjoy nature while encouraging each other to commit to wandering.
Wander Woman schedules regular clinics from hunting and fishing to caving and canoeing. We focus on women feeling comfortable and not having to worry about what experiences they have in the outdoors. Wander Woman has equipment women can borrow so they don’t have to stress over buying everything to be prepared for one of our events.
I’m most proud of the community we have built. It is true what they say, your vibe attracts your tribe. We have such a diverse tribe of women from all walks of life. I couldn’t be prouder!
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I grew up with a family that spent a ton of time outdoors.
I find peace and fulfillment when I successfully spend time in nature. I’ve always been up for adventures, and never really hesitated to try new things. If I make up my mind about something, I’m not one to back down easily.
I developed Wander Woman so other women could get those same feelings of accomplishment when exploring in the wild.
