Community Highlights: Meet Katrina Kopeck of Siren Branding

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katrina Kopeck.

Katrina Kopeck

Hi Katrina, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After receiving my Broadcast Journalism degree from DePaul University in Chicago, I quickly realized I didn’t want to work in news, but I loved production.

To buy myself some time, I got my first yoga teaching certificate and fell in love with that too! Between my polymath curiosity and strong Midwestern work ethic, I took a strange and wonderfully circuitous career path before landing in corporate leadership.

In the corporate world, I was driven, passionate, and motivated…and quickly had the wind taken out of my sails. I realized I was out of place – a yoga teacher and creative, climbing a corporate ladder to nowhere.

I grew tired.

Tired of working for people who didn’t live the values they preached.

Tired of being the only woman in a room while men spoke over me and down to me.

I was tired of having my character attacked when I spoke my mind.

I was tired of working 70-80 hour weeks to get the job done well, without the support I needed, and when I burned out, was told it was my fault and that I shouldn’t have worked so hard.

So I left. And I started Siren Branding with a mission of living in alignment with my values and helping others do the same.

Through the path to finding an authentic, aligned working environment, I found that a few things are always true:

1. Having aligned values and messaging will make every single one of your decisions easier.

2. Doing anything new is much faster and easier with a trusted guide.

3. Uncovering your authentic voice will make you more confident and magnetic to the people you want to work with – like developing your own (ethical) siren song.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Of course not! I have yet to meet an entrepreneur who has had a path clear of bumps and debris.

For me, the biggest challenge has been focus. I have a lot of ideas and a lot of passions, so focusing on one means the others have to be put to the side (at least for now).

I notice that when I’m able to hear my intuition – and listen and respond to it – things get easier. When I start doubting my inner voice or listening to someone else’s voice over mine, things get more challenging.

We’ve been impressed with Siren Branding, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As the alluring sirens of myth drew in sailors from across the sea with the beautiful sound of their voices, Siren Branding is just that – uncovering your alluring brand voice to draw your prospects in from wherever they are.

You can have the most beautiful logo, the best messaging, and the most heartfelt story, but if you’re not CONNECTING with your audience, from a trustworthy, values-forward, emotional place, their attention is going to wander somewhere else.

I’m here to help you capture and keep that attention, turning followers into prospects.

When I ask people what “brand” means, I usually get an answer like “my logo” or “how my business looks.” While those aren’t wrong answers, they’re also not full answers. Your brand is essentially how people feel when they interact with any piece of your brand – website, social media, phone calls, flyers, business cards, course, freebies, etc. If those elements are all distinctly different, you’ve created a feeling of confusion.

I support business owners and entrepreneurs in creating and building their brands from a holistic, long-term lens. I have two primary offerings to meet people where they are:

1. Brand Discovery. A full, comprehensive brand build including your vibe (logo, colors, fonts, etc.), messaging (what you communicate), and voice (how you communicate). Walk away with a beautiful Brand Book and a folder of assets that will last for years to come.

2. Brand Implementation. I’ll build your brand assets and/or train your team to do so. We’ll create systems that support your business and brand so they become fully integrated and supportive of one another. This might include social media strategy, website build, design, copywriting, etc.

I am known for creating safe, supportive working relationships. I consider myself a part of the business I’m working with, so I’m invested in the overall success of the business and how it all feels for the business owner. If the “best practices” for your industry don’t feel right in your system, they’re not going to work for your business. I listen to your head and your heart as we make decisions together.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I have found that finding a mentor is very easy, but finding a good mentor is extremely challenging. More important than finding a mentor is to have a relationship with your intuition. Learn to listen to it. Learn to trust it. And learn to understand when your intuition is being clouded by someone else.

When you have this kind of relationship with your intuition, it will be much (much!) easier to find a mentor who has your best interests in mind.

Be wary of the mentor who tries to turn you into them. Be wary of the mentor who gets angry if you make a choice they don’t agree with. Be wary of the mentor who doesn’t want you to grow.

Pricing:

  • Brand Discovery – $5,000
  • Brand Implementation – Monthly retainer, flexible depending on needs and scope of work.
