Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaysyn Krystal.

Hi Kaysyn, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Born and raised in Meeker, Colorado, I am a new content creator, photographer, and videographer, but life a lifelong photo lover (trust me, you don’t wanna see my camera roll). When my mother, step-father and I purchased Trappers Lake Lodge in 2019 I took over the photography, marketing, social media management, and our website, something I had no idea about might I add, and then – I fell in love!

I guess you could say my favorite hobby in life is to make people smile. I was brought up on the back of a horse, had wonderful teenage years playing on high school and college sports teams, and found a passion for driving horse-drawn carriages with JR’s Carriage Service – and all the while, taking pictures.

As a momma of two beautiful girls, this is something I felt that I could do with my babies tagging along. So don’t be surprised if I roll up with a baby strapped to my back and a toddler-lookin”’ pack mule following me around. Wherever I go, they go!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, not at all! I started by selling clothes that I no longer wore in order to invest in my first camera. Trying to understand pricing, advertising, and my style while also being a mother to two young girls was a challenge in itself

A year after starting my business and diving head first into making my hobby a career, I was also facing a hard divorce, forcing me to take a step back from photography. Recently, I have returned back to my photography and videography and now work from home with my two daughters.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I like most about your city is the amount of residents who are interested in the Western lifestyle and becoming educated about our way of life. What I like least about your city is the flip side of what I like best – the amount of individuals who don’t understand the Western lifestyle and are trying to extinguish it.
