Today we’d like to introduce you to Keira Paul.
Hi Keira, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey started with my love for helping others grow and support themselves independently. At the start of 2020, I had been teaching yoga and fitness classes for about nine years. I fell in love with teaching these classes and I wanted to embody the strength and knowledge that I had seen in many of my mentees and coaches that helped me in my journey. Now, as we all know, when April hit, most studios had to close their doors and we all had to find new ways to live our daily lives. I started to shift my teaching to online classes so I could continue the connection I had with members of my yoga and fitness community.
At the start of the year, I had also received my real estate license with hopes to assist my community even further. At this time where everyone was spending so much time in their homes and with all the studios and gyms closed, I realized that weirdly enough I was being projected on a new path of opportunity. I jumped headfirst into helping my friends in purchasing the homes that they’d been dreaming about. Walking them through the steps to homeownership and seeing them feel empowered has been just as rewarding as seeing yoga students discover and love themselves and their bodies. Every single home purchase is different than the one before it so I am learning right there with my clients and creating stronger friendships and connections. I am so excited to continue on this new path and I’m even more excited to see my friend’s and client’s dreams materialize.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting something new is always challenging. When no one knows your name and you have no experience, it’s hard to get people to take a chance on you. I was very fortunate to have friends that gave me a shot and helped me build my experience. I also had an amazing mentor who was a top producer with our company take me under her wing and show me the ropes.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
The real estate market is pretty challenging at the moment due to low inventory. I have worked with many buyers and know what it takes to get offers accepted. I don’t break their bank in the process. I help them make smart financial choices that can get them the home they love. I work on a team of 4 women with a variety of experiences so someone is always available. Our company also offers our buyers 1/3 of our commission after they close. This money cannot be used towards closing costs but can be used towards home renovations, new furniture, movers, whatever the buyer needs. We/I are all about empowering our clients.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
We had to move a lot when I was younger, which always gave me a hunger to have my own home and space to ground down. Some weekends my mom and I would go to open houses and imagine what it would be like to live in these cool houses around the city.
