Community Highlights: Meet Keva Morris of VonRose Hair Design

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keva Morris.

Keva, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
From a very early age, I can remember watching old movies and musicals fascinated by the hairstyles of the day, always interested in the intricacies and perfections of every style, thinking to myself, “I can do that.” I spent more than a decade practicing and honing my skills on anyone willing.

Once I decided to pursue a career in Hairstyling, sky became the limit, with the skills I brought to the table and the ability to study under some of the best arts in the industry at trade shows and classes.

Now every day, I get to empower and making women feel beautiful. I love creating beautiful things with my hands, mind, and heart. Most things are my specialty. I have an ability to grow with or inspire growth in my clients on their hair journeys. There are many services that I offer depending on client focus and lifestyle. “Variety is the spice of life.”

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have been many obstacles throughout my life and career. Last year has taught me about patience, planning, and how to live in the now tomorrow is not promised to anyone.

No matter what the odds are, you have to know within yourself that YOU are enough, and anything you want to attain, you’ll have to show up every day and fight for it will never be easy, but it will always be worth it.

We’ve been impressed with VonRose Hair Design, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a Colorado native and first-generation hairstylist with 29 years of experience. I believe that having amazing beautiful, healthy hair is within everyone’s reach and that our hair journeys are a sacred rite. I am a Master Colorist, Certified Curl Artist and retailer, Texture specialist, Extension specialist, and Educator. I service all types of hair. I don’t have many styling limits. Natural hair care, Custom Coloring, Curly/Straight hair cutting, Weaving/Extensions, Weddings, Editorial, and Runway. I am a hair nerd and enthusiast.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to living unapologetically. To not minimize myself or my skills for anyone.
