Community Highlights: Meet Kimi of Kind Coffee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimi.

Hi Kimi, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Born and raised in California, I began my career as a chocolatier after finishing culinary school, crafting confections that sparked my love for flavor and creativity. In 2019, I felt ready for a new adventure and relocated to Estes Park—a move that changed my life in the best way. I started as a barista at Kind Coffee and quickly fell in love not only with the craft of coffee, but with the incredible sense of community here. In 2023, I proudly purchased the business. Estes has become so much more than a place to live—it’s a supportive, close-knit community that truly feels like home. I’m also honored to serve on the board of the Estes Non-Profit Network, where I contribute to strengthening the community that has given me so much.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’m fortunate that the transition from manager to owner was smooth one. I absolutely could not have done it without the support of my amazing staff.

At Kind Coffee, we specialize in thoughtfully sourced, organic, and fair-trade coffee served with genuine warmth and intention. Every cup is crafted to reflect our commitment to sustainability—from the beans we select to the compostable materials we use daily. But what truly sets us apart is our devotion to kindness. It guides everything we do: how we treat our guests, how we support our staff, and how we show up for our community. We partner with and give back to local nonprofits and land preservation organizations, ensuring that our impact extends far beyond our doors. Rooted in Estes Park, we’re more than a coffee shop—we’re a community space built on connection, care, and the belief that good coffee can do good things.
