Community Highlights: Meet Lacey Norfleet of Lacey Nichole Hair Co.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lacey Norfleet.

Hi Lacey, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve been a stylist for 18 years, and what a journey it’s been! While it’s brought me a lot of joy and growth, it hasn’t always been easy. What they don’t tell you in beauty school is just how tough it can be to build a clientele and actually run a business. The main goal there is helping you pass the state boards—not teaching you how to handle clients, manage your finances, do your taxes, or market yourself.

By the end of 2018, I found myself burnt out from the constant hustle and still not seeing the steady income I wanted. That’s when I decided to invest in a couple of coaching programs specifically for hairstylists. And honestly, it changed everything. I finally learned the business side of things—how to niche down, create a schedule I love, attract my dream clients, and most importantly, build a reliable income that helps support my family.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As I mentioned before, one of the biggest hurdles was simply not knowing how to run a business. But another major challenge many stylists face—including myself—is emotional pricing. Letting fear hold me back from raising my prices, even when it was necessary or well-earned, was something I had to work through. It does get easier with time and experience, but I’ll admit—it’s still a bit of a mental hurdle for me.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Lacey Nichole Hair Co.?
I’m a solo stylist, and a little over a year ago, my dad helped me transform an office space into my own private salon. I now have a cozy, private room where I see my clients, and I also rent out an additional room to an esthetician, creating a small, welcoming beauty space.

I specialize in low-maintenance color because I believe busy women—especially moms—deserve hair that looks and feels beautiful long after they leave the salon, without the pressure of frequent upkeep. My goal is for every client to walk out not only loving their hair, but also feeling like they just had a great catch-up with a friend.

What I’m most proud of is the brand I’ve built: genuine, relatable, and honest. Clients know exactly what I offer, what to expect during their appointment, and what it will cost—no surprises, just clear communication and a tailored experience. I truly value each person who sits in my chair and am so grateful for the trust they place in me.

Any big plans?
I’m genuinely so happy with the business I’ve built—the services I offer, the location, my amazing clients… all of it! Lately, I’ve been especially excited about offering grey blending services. This approach helps women soften the line of regrowth and begin incorporating their natural grey into their overall color in a seamless, beautiful way.

Women with grey hair deserve the same low-maintenance, confidence-boosting hair as anyone else, and I’m thrilled to support them in that journey. I’m really looking forward to seeing where this path leads!
