Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Rubin.
Laura, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I spent years ticking off those societal checkboxes – college, career, marriage, and children – all in pursuit of what I was told would bring me fulfillment. But guess what? I found myself on a perpetual loop of hustle, productivity, and “must-do” tasks, constantly on the edge of overwhelm, anxiety, and burnout.
In the midst of this whirlwind, I discovered something profound. When I wasn’t hustling, I was merely surviving on autopilot, going through the motions without truly being present in my own life. The emptiness and monotony were palpable, and I knew something had to change.
And then came the pivotal moment – midlife. I made a decision that would forever alter my path. I realized that the traditional definitions of success and the way I was “doing” life were not aligned with my true desires. With a newfound determination, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery, seeking clarity, confidence, and courage. I wanted to step away from the path I thought I should be on and instead, follow the whispers of my soul.
THIS MARKED MY WILD AWAKENING.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Transitioning from lifelong overachievement to valuing life’s simple joys has been a challenging journey. While I’ve embraced the concept of living “wild awake,” implementing it into daily life presents its own hurdles. There are times when I slip back into the hustle culture, but I’m learning to prioritize presence over productivity.
It’s about finding fulfillment in quiet moments and small pleasures. This transition requires self-awareness and compassion, as I navigate between old habits and newfound priorities. Overall, it’s a continuous journey of shedding societal expectations and reconnecting with my true self.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Wild Awake Woman LLC?
I believe we have an epidemic of highly successful women who have lost their spark because they are chasing an external view of success. These women are unfulfilled, disheartened, and numb simply going through the motions of life on autopilot while riding the hustle train.
I am the Founder of Wild Awake Woman. My passion is mentoring entrepreneurs and corporate leaders who are ready to manifest joy, health, happiness, and success by stepping into their true power. I am on a mission to guide women on a transformative journey, helping them step off the hustle train and reconnect with the genuine joy of living.
I have tread the path of transformation and know the exhilarating leap it takes to go from striving to thriving. As a hardcore mover-and-shaker and a relentless high-achiever, I’ve walked this journey myself. And if I can claim this empowering shift, I wholeheartedly believe another woman can as well.
The Wild Awake experiences focus on adventure and play allowing my women to break down the barriers of their “normal” and tap into the joy of living. Working with me, allows them to view their life with a fresh perspective; looking through a lens of curiosity and possibility. I curate immersive experiences for women who have lost their zest for life; guiding them to re-ignite their inner spark and live each day with renewed purpose, passion, and possibility.
I believe in experiential coaching. This is a type of coaching that focuses on providing clients with hands-on, experiential learning opportunities to enhance their personal and professional development. It is an interactive and dynamic approach that goes beyond traditional coaching methods by incorporating practical activities, simulations, and real-life experiences.
The core principle of experiential coaching is that individuals learn and grow best through direct experience and reflection. Instead of relying solely on verbal discussions and theoretical concepts, experiential coaching aims to create a learning environment where clients actively engage in activities, experiments, and role-plays that mirror real-life situations.
My experiential coaching model includes equine-guided facilitated coaching, art experiences, movement, and whole-body living. Whole-body living is a holistic approach to living that involves cultivating a deeper connection and awareness of your physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. It involves acknowledging the interconnectedness of different aspects of your life and focusing on living in a way that supports your overall health and well-being.
The goal of Whole Body Living is to live in a way that supports your overall health and well-being and to create a sense of balance and harmony in your life. By focusing on the interconnectedness of different aspects of your life, you can create a more holistic and fulfilling way of living. Living through the five senses involves being present and fully engaged in the moment, using the senses to take in and appreciate the world around you.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Finding a good mentor is a deliberate process that begins with identifying your goals and aspirations. It’s crucial to seek compatibility between yourself and potential mentors, ensuring alignment in values, experience, and personality for a fruitful relationship.
Establishing mutual expectations and maintaining open communication throughout the mentorship journey is essential for success. Showing appreciation for your mentor’s time and expertise, while being flexible and respectful of their commitments, helps nurture a strong mentor-mentee relationship.
Successful networking thrives on authenticity, active listening, and mutual benefit. It’s about building genuine relationships based on trust and respect, where both parties offer value and support each other’s goals.
By focusing on long-term relationship building, offering expertise and resources, and embracing continuous learning, networking becomes a dynamic process of growth and opportunity. Persistence is key, as nurturing connections over time leads to a robust network that fosters personal and professional development for all involved.
