Today we’d like to introduce you to Lorie Jones.
Lorie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I didn’t come into finance through the front door. In fact, I was a history major who landed a secretarial role at a small RIA in South Denver about 15 years ago—and that’s where everything changed.
It was my first real exposure to the world of financial services, and I was instantly hooked. There was something about the way financial planning brought clarity to complexity, the way it could offer people peace of mind and a roadmap toward their dreams. I knew I had a lot to learn, so I dove in headfirst. I started with my Series 7 and 66 licenses, added insurance credentials, and—because I loved the challenge of learning—I went on to earn my MBA from Colorado State and my Certified Financial Planner™ designation.
Over the years, I had the gift of wearing every hat in the RIA space—from admin to operations, from finance to President. I spent time in the 401(k) world with Empower Retirement, helped open a boutique RIA in Castle Rock, and truly learned this industry from the inside out.
But there was one thing I kept noticing: there weren’t enough women in the room. Whether it was clients who had been sidelined in financial conversations, or young women unsure of where they fit in this industry—I felt a tug. A calling.
That’s why I founded Fearless Financial Advisors. Not just to build solid financial plans (though we do that exceptionally well)—but to create a place where women are invited to belong. To lead. To learn. To ask every question and own every answer.
This work is about so much more than numbers. It’s about empowering people—especially women—with the tools, clarity, and confidence to live fully, give boldly, and grow wisely. That’s the legacy we’re building here. And we’re just getting started. This is a place for women who want to do more then sit in the passenger seat of their financial lives, but instead really want to take charge of their financial future.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Has it been a smooth road? Not hardly.
One of the biggest struggles I faced is something I see in so many women—across all professions. I was a mom to five kids, trying to learn the complex language of finance while keeping the wheels on at home. Honestly, I look back on those years and still wonder how I made it through. There were nights I studied for exams after everyone was in bed, mornings that started before the sun, and countless moments where I questioned if I was building something real—or just surviving.
What made it even harder? I didn’t see anyone who looked like me doing what I dreamed of doing. For the first five years of my career, I genuinely believed that women didn’t become financial advisors. They were in operations. They ran the back office. The men gave the advice. I had fantastic mentors who taught me how to succeed in the field—people I’m still deeply grateful for. And I’ll always credit Jessica Taylor for helping me find my footing in those early days.
But I didn’t have examples of women running their own firms, leading client relationships, or shaping the future of financial planning on their own terms. That absence mattered. It made the journey lonelier than it had to be.
Also, somewhere along that road, I learned one of the most vital lessons: if you don’t protect your peace, no one else will. I had to figure out how to stop overcommitting, to tune into what truly mattered, and to let go of the guilt that comes with doing “less” so I could focus on what really mattered to my clients, my family and me. I’ll admit, I’m still not great at saying no, but I’m getting better.
At Fearless Financial Advisors, we build that philosophy into how we serve our clients and how we lead our team. We do the hard things. But we do them from a place of alignment, not depletion.
Because the goal isn’t just success—it’s sustainability. And you can’t build a fearless future if you’re running on fumes.
As you know, we’re big fans of Fearless Financial Advisors. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At Fearless Financial Advisors, we believe that financial peace of mind isn’t a luxury, it’s a birthright. Our mission is to help women (men too) and families take confident ownership of their financial lives, without shame, confusion, or condescension.
We are a boutique financial planning and advisory firm, proudly women-led and values-driven. While we serve a wide range of clients, we specialize in working with women in transition—whether that’s career change, divorce, widowhood, retirement, or a major life pivot. We walk alongside our clients through those really turbulent pieces, the sticky bits of life. I want to help empower them to take charge of their future. I think it is so important that you don’t let someone else take the drivers seat with your financial future.
What we’re known for? Deep listening. Thoughtful, holistic planning. And creating a judgment-free zone where no question is too small and no dream is too big. We blend smart financial strategy with heart-centered coaching, so every plan reflects who you are, what you value, and where you’re going.
What sets us apart is our values. At Fearless, we live by the Fearless Five:
We Can Do Hard Things
Kindness is Non-Negotiable
FearLess = Peace of Mind
Authenticity Always
Learning, Wisdom, and Growth
These aren’t just words on a wall—they guide every decision we make and every conversation we have.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the culture we’re creating. This isn’t just a financial firm. It’s a movement—inviting women to take the lead in their financial stories, to pass down wisdom instead of worry, and to build lives of freedom, generosity, and alignment. A lot of times I work with women who take control of their family finances, and occasionally with men who want their wives to be involved in financial discussions and are hoping that my blend of warmth and commitment to helping make complex concepts simple and fun really resonates with the fearless females in their lives.
If you’re looking for a partner who will meet you where you are, honor your vision, and help you build a future with clarity and confidence—you belong here.

Any big plans?
One of the things I’m most excited about for the future of Fearless Financial Advisors is expanding our commitment to financial education.
We’re building more than just financial plans—we’re building confidence, clarity, and community. And that starts with access to education that’s approachable, thoughtful, and genuinely helpful. I want to create more opportunities for people to learn financial concepts in a way that feels empowering—not overwhelming. That means developing short-form video content, easy-to-digest educational materials, and in-person symposiums where individuals can gather, ask questions, and walk away with real understanding—not just more industry jargon.
Too often, people are told to “ask the right questions”—but no one teaches them what those questions are or why they matter. I want to change that. I want to build content that meets people where they are, whether they’re managing a household budget, planning for retirement, running a business, or navigating a major life shift. Financial education shouldn’t feel exclusive—it should feel like a conversation you’re invited into.
This is about shifting the narrative: from “finance is intimidating” to “I’ve got this.” From “I’m not good with money” to “I’m learning, and I’m in control.”
And if you’re someone who wants to understand your finances but doesn’t have the time, energy, or desire to do it all yourself—you’re not alone. That’s exactly why I do what I do. I’ll teach you what you need to know so you feel informed and empowered, and then I’ll take the work off your plate so you can focus on what matters most to you.
I actually have one more thing to highlight – I put in the pictures one of my coffee mugs that I make for my podcast, Fearless Females. I gather stories of successful professional women and their hints and tips and tricks to help younger women just starting their journey become successful like them. I love taking the stories, they are truly inspiring and insightful. You can find my podcast “Fearless Females” by Lorie Jones on Apple and Spotify, etc. You can also find all the episodes on my website. I love it so much and I am truly passionate about how inspiring these women are, check it out.
