Community Highlights: Meet Luke Cronin of Cronin Engineering and Inspection

Today we’d like to introduce you to Luke Cronin.

Hi Luke, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I founded Cronin Engineering and Inspection in 2020 after getting a lot of questions from friends and family about residential structural engineering. I quickly realized that the market for residential and small commercial projects has been underserved and that people are frequently unhappy with the level of service they receive. I founded CEI on the principles of quality, customer service, honesty, and affordability. I am passionate in helping others and understand the importance of projects of all sizes.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Hiring employees was initially a scary hurdle. When you start bringing on employees you are responsible for their wellbeing and it can be a bit intimidating to move from a one man shop to having employees. But it is also good to get out of your comfort zone and start down a new road. I put a lot of effort into making sure this is a great place to work, and I want my team to feel supported and enjoy what they do. We’re now a team of eight, and it’s gotten easier each time we hire someone new.
