Today we’d like to introduce you to Lynn Snyder Goetz
Hi Lynn, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I grew up in a Real Estate family. My dad started his own general practice in the early 60
‘s. I watched as he built a business marketing and selling Real Estate that would be sold to individuals and then run as a resort. We moved from Virginia to Florida the middle of my junior year in High School and I worked in the sales office of Innisbrook (his first project). After college I took a job with a big corporation in New York City. I was there 4 years then transferred to Denver to open a district office. Not wanting to leave Denver when they offered me a position in Minneapolis, I got into Leadership in the Direct Selling Industry. I moved that business three times and when we came back to Denver after a 10 stint in Columbus , Ohio, I needed a change so I got my Broker’s license here in Colorado to practice Real Estate. I just completed my 20th year. I believe in serving in the industry where you live and work and I jumped into running for Leadership at our local board. I served on the board from 2008 to 2018 and was the Chairman in 2016-2017. I then served 6 years on the board of the State Realtor Association and am the Metro District Chair elect for 2025 for the Colorado Association of Realtors. I am just finishing up the year as President of the Builder Realty Council.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting a Real Estate business is challenging. All of us bring many outside skills that can be put to good use in a new business and it’s still starting something from scratch. Real Estate is a prospecting business. You can be the best at contracts, negotiating, keeping the deal together etc., but unless you convince a buyer or seller to hire you, it doesn’t matter, We wake up unemployed every day! My biggest struggle has been having close friends, relative and former business associates not giving me a chance to earn their business. Even after 20 years, it still happens.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I chose my Brokerage because of the culture. God, Family, Career. I have been with the same office my whole career. I believe I am best known for being collaborative, knowledgeable, professional and willing to creative a team with every transaction. I am most proud of having a !00% closing rate, once I get a buyer or seller under contract. I love working with everyone involved in the transaction and facilitating an exceptional experience that results in all parties reaching their goals.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
The importance of creating and maintaining personal relationships.
