Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Jo Gentert, Laura Jeffrey, Nicole Lavery.
Hi Mary Jo Gentert, Laura Jeffrey, Nicole Lavery, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
MJG: Thirty years ago my daughter, who was seven years old at the time, was hospitalized due to a sudden illness. Her joints were locking up and doctors struggled to diagnose her for a week. They eventually discovered that her condition was triggered by an inflammatory response to a prescription medication for a sinus infection. We were able to bring her home after a week, but she had an IV attached to her arm. Doctors advised against giving her any medication for at least a year to allow her immune system to recover. At the time I leveraged the holistic health & energy knowledge that I had and leaned into herbs and Reiki to help her heal, which sped up her recovery. That experience made me realize the power of alternative healing approaches, and served as a launching point to my career.
My journey with holistic medicine and healing began with a few beginner classes at Front Range Community College. During that time, I became friends with a teacher who suggested I explore the concept of the body’s energy. I later discovered my deep passion for studying the body’s energy during my first class in Arizona, where I learned a Japanese style of acupuncture. Despite the fact that my family rarely gets sick, I used that technique over the years and was able to heal them every time something came up, whether illness or injury.
About 5 years ago, my daughter suffered severe dislocations in both her ankles during a fall while rock climbing. She underwent multiple surgeries to address her injuries after several unsuccessful attempts. Doctors informed us that she wouldn’t be able to walk for a year and that even after that, the extent of mobility she would regain in one ankle remained uncertain. She was sent home in a wheelchair, but through my energy work on her body, she was able to walk in special walking boots within 97 days.
Over the past several years in my work, it seemed that things were healing and symptoms were disappearing, but it didn’t feel like I was reaching the origin of the issue in the body. No one single modality seemed to do it all.
I’ve merged my experience with different energy techniques, and along with Laura Jeffrey and Nicole Lavery, we have created our own healing modality where we can access and clear the origin of inherited imbalances. This work restores the blueprint of the body via resetting the cranial nerves, resulting in a powerful cascade of healing effects along with a spiritual renewal that occurs alongside the physical and emotional changes in the body. What we are seeing now, in ourselves and our clients, is that this cranial nerve reset also ignites the enlightenment process. It’s very exciting, to say the least.
LJ: My journey has just begun. I met Mary Jo 5 years ago and would see her from time to time for this or that. It wasn’t until I was in two car accidents within a four month period, where I was rear-ended in both instances and suffered whiplash, that I realized the impact energy work and lifestyle can have on our bodies ability to heal. Within a couple weeks, with Mary Jo’s assistance and my drive to heal, I was back to my old self. I have always believed that we can do a lot more than we think to elevate our quality of life, now I know that is true. With that said, sometimes we need some assistance to get started and that is where our healing practice come in.
About a year ago, Mary Jo started teaching classes on quantum energy healing. I initially thought I would just use this to help myself and my family but within a few months I realized this was more than just a hobby – I had a true passion for learning more and developing this into a career. Then wouldn’t you know it, our family circumstances changed and I needed to leave my then career. This change gave me the opportunity and time I needed to work with Mary Jo and Nicole learning and practicing the art of quantum energy healing. When we are on the right path, it is amazing how the doors open.
NL: I first met Mary Jo almost 2 years ago, right around the time I was launching my health coaching practice. I immediately felt as though she was immersed in something big. The quick exchange we had at the farmers market one Saturday piqued my curiosity in more ways than one – not only was her story inspiring, but the idea that we had the power to remove imbalances from the body via energy work made me realize I needed to experience this for myself.
4 weeks later I was at my first appointment with her, and in awe about what was coming up as the root cause for my lifetime digestive woes and PMS symptoms – inherited herbicide from my mother’s side of the family, a decade’s worth of pesticide from restaurant food – the list went on. I felt so incredible after all of that was cleared during my first session that I knew that I was not only a client for life, but that this was the missing piece to my practice. 6 months later, after wildly successful monthly appointments with Mary Jo, I became trained in her first practitioners course. The rest is history – my client load continues to grow, and I continuously feel blessed to help heal people around the world and give them answers to health issues that have been a long time conundrum for them. Being able to not only help the body to heal with this energy modality but also get specific and provide detail about the underlying root causes and effects that somebody is facing is truly invaluable and a really exciting part of this work. We are health detectives, with the ability to shed light and help create some really powerful ‘aha’ moments with our clients. I absolutely love this work so much, and know we are just getting started.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
MJG: When I was first getting started, most people I knew at that time had never heard of energy, so it was difficult to explain what it actually was that I was doing. I think at first there was this resistance to it, until they saw my daughter’s ankle recovery. Then it shifted to curiosity, and that created an opportunity. The demand eventually became so great that I struggled to fit all the clients into my schedule.
LJ: I get a lot of courtesy smiles and nods when I tell people what I am doing now. When I explain that we were designed to heal ourselves, but because of what we inherit, the toxicities in our world, and our other stressors that we are being prevented from self-healing, they seem to agree. Though it isn’t until I work on someone and they themselves feel the difference that the real magic happens.
NL: When I first became trained in this modality, I encountered some confusion and skepticism from people when I tried to explain what exactly I did. I think that’s the case with anything that is new and on the forefront – paradigm shifts take time for the collective to really grasp them, and alongside education and ongoing conversation, we are helping others to understand health and their bodies through a new lens. For quite a few of my clients, it required that they experience a session of their own to feel the true power of this work. And once they do, they are usually hooked.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Aging as Intended?
MJG: Over the past several years, word of mouth spread quickly and my calendar filled up with client sessions. I kept extensive notes along the way, and soon realized that I had been developing my own energy healing formula that I was using on all clients. I was figuring out how the body actually worked.
I was blessed with 2 clients who became lifelong friends and colleagues. With their help, I was able to discover that the rate at which everybody ages is different – however, there is a rate at which we are intended to age. While the average aging rate appears to be around 150%, I’ve discovered that we each have a unique, optimal aging rate that we can achieve via our energy modality and lifestyle. This rate is approximately .04%.
This discovery served as the foundation for Aging as Intended, the name of our practice, which was established at the beginning of 2025. Since then, we’ve been led down a parallel path in discovering how to restore the blueprint of the body, before our inherited toxicities, trauma, and emotions defiled how we were intended to function at the start. Our blueprint, otherwise known as our birthright, is the oculomotor nerve – which connects all cranial nerves and is renewed by sun exposure through the iris.
“We change the world not by what we say or do, but as a consequence of what we have become.” This quote from David R. Hawkins captures how we approach this work. We believe this protocol helps to unlock the true potential that lies in each and every client we work with, by helping them achieve the true, lasting transformation necessary to be born again into their natural birthright.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
MJG/LJ/NL: There is a certain degree of risk during every appointment, in not wanting to interfere with the natural flow of our clients’ purpose and path. Our goal is always to pave the way to allow their bodies to heal on their own, while helping them to restore their original, most authentic blueprint.
There are some clients who are torn between healing and maintaining the status quo, with certain lifestyle habits that are hindering their progress. There can be a risk when it comes to managing expectations while also meeting each client where they’re at on their current journey.
Striking a balance between where our healing work ends and where client ownership begins with lifestyle changes is something that we are consistently striving to achieve, in order to continue helping as many people as possible.
