Hi Marzil, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The heart of my story has always been service. From a young age, I felt drawn to spaces where people were in transition, whether in health, in leadership, or in life, and I wanted to be the kind of person who could bring steadiness, clarity, and hope into those moments. Over the years, that calling led me into roles in healthcare and large organizations, where I saw firsthand how systems impact real people: patients, families, and the professionals who care for them. Those experiences shaped my conviction that care must be both excellent and deeply human, and that leaders need support just as much as the communities they serve.

Empower Care+ Solutions was born from that conviction. After years of working inside complex systems, I kept meeting seniors, adults with disabilities, and caregivers who were overwhelmed trying to navigate care while still wanting to preserve dignity, independence, and a sense of home. I started Empower Care+ Solutions to bridge that gap, to offer personalized, holistic care in Colorado that honors the whole person, not just a diagnosis or task list. Today, our team provides in-home support that ranges from skilled care to wellness services, with a focus on genuine connection and quality of life. The goal has always been simple: to empower people to live on their own terms for as long as possible.

Alongside that, The Legacy Engine grew out of my parallel journey as a leadership coach, consultant, and speaker. After working with executives, nonprofits, and global projects, it became clear that many leaders were carrying heavy responsibilities without enough spaces to process, grow, and reimagine how they lead. Through The Legacy Engine, I help leaders and organizations navigate change, build cultures of care, and align their work with the kind of legacy they want to leave behind. It’s where my love for strategy, storytelling, and transformation come together, whether I’m coaching one-on-one, supporting teams, or speaking on resilience and leadership.

Today, my work is really the integration of these two streams: compassionate care and courageous leadership. Empower Care+ Solutions allows me to serve families and vulnerable populations in a very tangible, everyday way, while The Legacy Engine gives me a platform to influence how organizations and leaders show up for their people. Both are rooted in the same belief—that when people feel seen, supported, and empowered, they don’t just survive change, they grow through it. My journey has been far from linear, but every step has reinforced my commitment to building systems, services, and spaces where people can heal, lead, and live with a sense of purpose and possibility.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has been meaningful, but it has not always been easy. There have been seasons where the vision was clear, yet the path forward felt uncertain, especially as I moved from stable roles in established systems into building something of my own. Learning how to balance faith in the mission with very practical realities like operations stretched me in ways I did not expect, and it required a new level of courage and patience.

With Empower Care+ Solutions, one of the ongoing challenges has been growing a high quality care company from the ground up while staying true to a holistic, person centered model. It takes time to build trust with families, referral partners, and clinicians, especially when you are a newer company committed to doing things thoughtfully rather than quickly. Navigating regulations, licensing, and the financial pressures of being pre revenue has been humbling, and there have been moments of doubt, but each challenge has refined the business and clarified the kind of care experience we want to be known for.

Similarly, with The Legacy Engine, it has taken persistence to carve out a space as a voice in leadership, resilience, and transformation. Stepping into consulting, coaching, and speaking requires not just expertise, but also the willingness to be visible, to share personal stories, and to keep showing up even when the results are not immediate. There have been times where it felt like the work was happening quietly in the background, yet those were the seasons where deep relationships were built and the foundation for future opportunities was laid.

Through all of this, the struggles have become teachers. They reminded me to ask for support, to stay grounded in community, and to keep aligning decisions with purpose rather than fear. Every obstacle has in some way strengthened my empathy for the people and leaders I serve, because I know what it feels like to hold big responsibilities and big dreams at the same time. The journey has not been smooth, but it has been rich with growth, and it continues to affirm my belief that meaningful impact often begins in the quiet, unseen work of persevering one step at a time.

That perseverance is not about pushing at all costs, but about staying teachable, listening deeply, and being willing to adjust while still honoring the original vision. It allows room for faith, curiosity, and humility, which means challenges become information rather than a verdict.
