Community Highlights: Meet Meghan Gilroy of Fully Shining Women Leading Our World

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meghan Gilroy.

Hi Meghan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was a smart, successful, conscious, capable, caring woman on a spiritual path – but I was frustrated and stuck.

Why couldn’t I manifest the life and work of my dreams?

My story begins as a people-pleasing, overachieving, perfectionist “good girl” who had a goal and vision board for every aspect of my life. With willpower, hard work and determination, I set out to achieve whatever I set my mind to.

That lead to straight A’s, awards, media coverage, book deals, TV shows and million-dollar businesses – alongside a healthy dose of stress, resentment and exhaustion.

As a heart-based business coach, I was taking home a big income, speaking at events with hundreds of attendees and teaching online with clients around the world.

It was all impressive, but deep inside I wasn’t happy.

Constantly busy, my head was still at work when I walked in the door of our home.

I was full to the point of overflowing.

Not present with my children. Barely had time for my husband – let alone real-time to enjoy my life or truly focus on my sacred self-care and wellness.

I was doing work that I was good at but certainly wasn’t my genius.

Ironically, I also had an extensive spiritual toolkit.

Named “a spiritual leader for the next generation” in my early twenties by don Miguel Ruiz, the international best-selling author of The Four Agreements, I went on to co-teach with him and eventually run his business.

So how could I be savvy, successful and spiritual – and yet feel like I had so much more to offer, so much more potential?

What I craved was a life and business that lit up my soul.

My heart’s desire was to share my soul’s calling and feel connected, fulfilled, cherished, centered, delighted and supported. Relaxed – and present.

So what was my soul purpose? And how would I go about making it a part of my everyday world?

I knew that for my career and business to grow, I had to grow. (After all, I had been teaching this for years!)

I went on a hunt to know myself more deeply and on a retreat for myself, remembered the story of becoming a Fully Shining Woman.

The Story of the Fully Shining Woman
Many, many moons ago, when my husband Jamie was a single dad and dating, he was grumbling about women when his then 10-year-old son said, “Dad, it’s like this. You meet all these women, date them and want to get married. But you need to wait until you meet your Fully Shining Woman.”

A few years later, we met, fell in love and Jamie and Nick bestowed the Fully Shining Woman title on me.

Now here I was, with Nick grown and children of my own, recognized by many as a successful shining woman but realizing that I wasn’t FULLY shining.

In fact, I was dimming my own light.

I wasn’t listening to what my heart knew to be true.

I didn’t always make myself a priority. I wanted everyone around me to be happy – often at the cost of my own happiness.

And that’s when it hit me. I had been using a masculine approach to get what I wanted – be focused, set goals, make a plan, don’t stop.

Yet when I looked back at my life, all the best decisions I had made came from being in my feminine power.

Feminine power and spirituality that came from trusting my intuition and feelings, leading from my heart, not my head, taking leaps of faith that didn’t make sense at the time, tuning into fluid cycles of creation and spending time in connection with nature and Mother Earth.

When I let go of logical and linear… and allowed the messy magic and mystery to guide me, my life was better than I could have ever imagined.

Excitedly, I reviewed all my top women client success stories and saw that they had also blossomed and found true happiness and authentic lives when they used their feminine power.

That’s when the Fully Shining Women Leading Our World movement was born.

When we ignite our heart’s desires, unearth the stories that are holding us back, trust ourselves, our intuition and Source, follow the breadcrumbs as the next right step appears and sink into a sisterhood of support, we become Fully Shining Women Leading Our World.

All my soul gifts, life experiences, ancient spiritual lineage and women’s wisdom traditions then started weaving together to form the companion Fully Shining Women Wisdom School podcast. as well as working with woman as a spiritual mentor.

So many women from around the world are like me – we don’t need another teacher or guru. We don’t need another thing to do.

Instead, we need a “spiritual midwife” to walk us through times of transition and growth in our life or we want structured support to pause in our full lives within a true sisterhood of smart, conscious, capable, caring women on a spiritual healing and growth path.

Together, we’re unleashing our feminine power so we can break through our blocks and barriers, answer our soul callings and ignite bigger potential in ourselves, our lives, our communities and the world.

We’ve discovered that it isn’t just “nice” to have support and sisterhood – it’s necessary.

And we know that when women have space and breath and embrace our power and potential, we give back to our families, communities, humanity and to Mother Earth.

We empower ourselves – and that changes our lives, our communities and the world.

Here’s what I know for sure: You are enough. You can trust yourself, others and life itself.

You don’t need to push, struggle or constantly try to be better or more.

I’m now living a life that lights up my soul. I’m leading a movement that I love as a spiritual leader.

And I know my soul purpose: I’m a catalyst, a connector, a communicator, a channel and a shamanic healer.

My soul mission is to empower, uplift and celebrate women as sacred so we can fully shine as leaders in our communities, our work and our families in harmony with Mother Earth.

I do that through our free community Fully Shining Women Leading Our World, on the Fully Shining Women Leading Our World podcast, in our modern mystery school Fully Shining Women Wisdom School and with private spiritual mentoring.

I can’t wait to see how YOUR LIFE and OUR WORLD change as you embrace not just being a shining woman but the FULLY Shining Woman who already lives within you.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
When you feel frustrated and stuck in your life or career and desire to be more aligned with your soul’s messages and purpose, you need to get clear on your heart’s desire, vision and dreams, be able to stand in your power, heal any limitations that are in your way and drop into trusting yourself.

It’s often challenging to shift into using a more intuitive guidance system since so many of us are schooled in goal-setting, constantly pushing and pleasing and in trying to meet other people’s version of “success.”

My biggest struggles have come from not trusting myself, not speaking up, not setting boundaries, not following my intuition – and yet the greatest reward has been to create a life and career that truly is filled with flow, abundance and contentment. There is now “magic” in my days – people, situations and opportunities that you just can’t explain logically or makeup.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I believe the right mentor appears when you need them – whether a friend mentions them, you hear them on a podcast, read about them in an article or they come to you in a dream. When you are clear on what you are intending and then listen to when you get that “yes” signal – whether it’s a knowing, chills, excitement, a vision or a heard message, then you’ll be guided to who can best serve you. There is also great power in asking – be vulnerable about reaching out to women you admire or who you know have traveled down the path you are seeking.

The best way I’ve networked is through intuition – when I think of someone, I reach out to them. I also believe in the power of communities and sharing what you are working on with like-minded and like-hearted women.
